New Captain

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

New Captain

Postby Dubciteh » Sun May 19, 2019 4:55 pm

Who should it be?

Kdb for me. I always felt silva and aguero were tokenish kind of gestures that they werent proper captains. And if either gets it we will be in same boat next season when they will likely leave.

Give it to kdb and let him be captain for the next 5 years.

Wildcard option would be bernardo silva.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't give it to KDB at all! Not when he's kicking off with his own players in front of the camera. That's not captain material.

It'll be Silva.

I personally think it should be Laporte. Don't care how young he is. He's fuckin class and a leader.

No for KDB for me also. Silva prob not now as he may not be here much longer same with Fern.

Bernardo could lead by example on the pitch with his work rate but not sure he’s a leader in n the dressing room.

Laporte and Stones I’d expect to be in contention for it.

Did I miss summat, I thought Fernandinho was injured , not dead............

He's here at least one more season which will give some of the younger ones time to mature and then take the mantle if Ferandinho leaves summer 2020.

Tricky one, in Pep's team I'm not sure how important the captain is. We need a core of leaders of whom any could be Captain on a given day.

KDB, Laporte, Stones, Bernado are the long term and Silva, Aguero, Fern for now.

What a list of options, we are truly blessed

Mahrez. Then player/manager when Pep goes.

If not him then Noel Gallagher.

Probably KDB is well suited to be a captain for the future.

But for now Dave, Sergio and Fern.

agree that Fern will be #1, so this is a moot point. disagree that KDB isn't co-captain material. he would be an excellent capt. calling out teammates who are not performing is exactly what you want from a captain.

I don't agree. Having a word privately is great. But "calling out" someone isn't the right way IMO, especially when the player is David Silva and has done more for the club than Kev ever will.

He didn't call Silva out, he was having a pop at the ref and Silva and Fern were trying to rein him in.

He didn't call him out for performance. Calling someone out must mean something different where you're from. If you kick off with someone you're calling them out.
