This is the first I’ve seen of this news, doesn’t feel good
What a fantastic player he has been for City, amazing player and great attitude a proper role model for young blues.

Legend!
I don't feel sad, we are lucky to have him for such a long time playing dream football, best to go on a high.
From the bottom of my heart, thankyou

At least we get a whole season to say good bye to him. Thanks for everything Big Dave.

One more season sounds ideal, a City legend and arguably our greatest ever player.

I wonder if the PFA will give him the player of the year award, even if he doesn't feature that much.

So this means we need to win the quadruple to give Merlin a proper goodbye.
On a serious note, sad. Even if his is not what he used to be, I can't say there was a better playmaker in the history of this league. An incredible footballer and an amazing human, never moaned, never seen any scandals with him involved. Just an amazing footballer that never cheated the game and got rewarded for being fair and honest. Right up there with the very best Spain ever had.
Breaks my heart, with his skills I was convinced he could had done it a few more years, but whatever he wants, the club needs to allow it to happen. Same as Vinnie or Zaba, he bleeds blue blood.
Thank you, Merlin. Now let's fuck everyone else one more time.

I think between Bernie & Foden we are in good hands. Thanks Big Dave - best player I've ever seen in a blue shirt

I usually always say prioritise the league, but I'm inclined to make an exception this year and go all guns blazing for the chumps league so Merlin can complete the full set!
Greatest ever.

It would be a fitting way to bow out and nothing less than what he deserves #DoItForDave

I'd agree with that. I still think a prime Ali B would have pushed him.

I would love it if we won the CL for Dave. But if we stay in the cups it wont happen.
Unpopular thing to say but gracefully exit the cups and concentrate on the PL and CL.

I take your point but then cup runs are also good for keeping fringe players sharp and content with playing time.

It’s the right time. He’s been a huge player for us but it’s not a surprise and the club have been planning for this. Bernardo is an ideal successor. Sergio can’t be far behind him. I’m slightly surprised we aren’t after a young striker. You never know about transfer bans.

I honestly think Foden is his successor imo. Bernie seems to be a mix of skill and engine. Can play on the wing or in the center. I'd like to see Foden step up this next season and take the Dave role
