I'm still trying to work out if it's correct. TV showed that Jesus was clearly onside when Sterling played the ball yet VAR said he was off. Also, it showed Raheem as just off but under VAR it showed him level. There is some real conflict with the 2 systems and my mind cannot work out why they have different outcomes; or is it how BT/Sky want to portray it?

Really? Didn't look like it at the time but didn't get to see the VAR. Must've been very close.

As long as it was the right decision I have no issue, just strange that the major outlets never picked it up on their replays.

It makes me think that BT/Sky were showing people what they wanted to see rather than what actually happens.

I wonder what the 'Game of the Day' will be on Sky, probably show the Dipper game.

Look at my post in the VAR thread and you'll see what they used to make the call on Sterling

Just seen it and I'm astonished that they could make the call on that, surely it was too close to call it that way unless they had made the decision already.

Don't expect the vile BBC to use the word "thrash" though like they did for the bin dipping cunts, despite them playing a woeful Norwich, being at home, and only winning by three goals.

Sorry to disappoint you.

We go and win 5-0 away.

Let’s stay top all season. We can do it.

And Sterling must be one of the top 5 players in the world. He just continues to get goals and assists every game.

There's a world of difference between Norwich at home, and West Ham away.

One hell of a statement, and puts the dippers on the back foot straight away.

For what its worth Eurosport is using the term "thrash" in their headline when describing our win

Really slow in the first game. Was on the verge of getting booked for late tackles and was warned by Dean. Bit better second half.

Doesn't it just?

They'll have a permanent inferiority complex hopefully

For the post above Rodri is sometimes a bit dozy, sometimes brilliant, but when you remember Silva looked rubbish for 4 weeks back in the day I think he'll be excellent

I can't believe we've smashed someone 5-0 and I'm not arsed. This feels normal. Not in a big headed way. But I guess I'm not surprised. Never thought it would be like this.

Well that's not bad for the first game. Suppose he will grow more into the position.

It's the fallout from that Nuclear Bum you let off in Scousepool. It's just hit the greater St. Helens area.

Gave the ball away a couple of times early doors but I suspect he’s just getting used to the pace of the game. Didn’t hide and was very tidy and comfortable on the ball and had one or two breaks forward and a few incisive passes as the game wore on. Covered the most ground in the first half and had the most touches, not seen the stats for the 90 minutes, which to my mind shows a understated control of the midfield. He will grow into this team and get better as the season progresses IMO

Got the potential to be an excellent signing
