There are a few half-rag knobheads but not many round where I used to live and the few I did encounter no-one took a blind bit of notice of anyway.

I can't imagine how it would feel if City ever went under.

You must have lived in Greenmount haha.

When I was a teenager it was "Quid a Kid" at Bury so I went a few times. Half their "fans" wore rag shirts. I went in my City shirt once after watching us beat Gillingham and the amount of shit I got was unreal.

Their security is wank as well. I managed to walk in to the changing rooms after we played them in a friendly under Keegan.

Shitty little club.

Blackford Bridge ain't Greenmount, mate.

I played football in Unsworth a lot as a kid. Definitely not posh haha

How old are you Mase and who did you play For? I’m 44 and played for Unsworth from 9yr old till 15. Our home pitch was Blackford Bridge in the early days. Fuckin huge pitch at the time for 9 yr olds haha.

33 mate. Westbury and Bury Juniors I played for. My brother played for Woodbank for years with Trippier whilst his dad was managing the team. He was always a class above the rest of them and he was a year younger

To be expected, after all we have been ruining football for the last ten years or so.

As for all this talk about big clubs giving money to Bolton and/or Bury, I make two points. Firstly, would BMW or General Motors give money to Reliant when they went bust - why should football be any different? Secondly, most lower league clubs have financial problems but have avoided the worst by being better run. Bury were promoted last using players they couldn't afford, I wonder how the club that missed out - presumably not one in trouble - feels about it.

Looking at the way the clubs were run, you have to ask how on earth some of these deals were allowed to go through. Crazy interest rates on loans, mortgage deals with mysterious lenders, indeed, from what I can gather, the consortium that was trying to by Bury pulled out because they had no idea to whom the club owed money and what were the contracts. There might be many answers to the present situation, municiple ownership, fans groups owning a golden share etc. But whatever, the EFL have to oversee the finances of clubs to ensure transparancy, and if that means "interference" into how clubs are run - so be it

Lev, in case you have forgotten, General Motors were bailed out by that Socialist , dare i say Communist government in Washington DC.

Stop with this free market BS . Remember the LIBOR rates scandal.

Since the late Seventies, the US has ignored the efficiency of Japanese and German Auto Manufacturers. The US doesn't know what free markets mean.
