MotM v Bournemoth

Postby Beefymcfc » Sun Aug 25, 2019 4:56 pm

Some strange play today, not at our best but for some reason it gave them hope which allowed us to prosper. Not sure of a stand-out though, what are your thoughts?

Sergio's poaching won us the game. Dave was quite good as well

Walker? Is that a joke? (probably)

Merlin for me, but could be Ederson as he was also immense in goal.

Had to think about it more, lean towards Silky Silva and his 2 assists. He found space in classic no.10 areas today that caused Bournemouth all sorts of problems and as Kev was not on his game for whatever odd reason (he wasn't poor though either). Makes you wonder what we will be like when he's gone. Still very near the top of his game at 33.

Kun with a brace is hard to ignore, and I thought Raz did well with his runs, hold up play and the finish was quite difficult and shows how far he's come as a player.

Once Rodri came on we looked better, and you can see we can be vulnerable without a more physical holding midfielder against some teams. Ake stepping into midfield was a good counter to Gundo and also imapacted KDB from what I observed.

Big Dave for me. Not a great all-round performance as a team but Silva is just a class above. Honourable mentions for Ederson (my 2nd choice) and Sergio for his superb poaching.

Silva cut them up. Kdb was ok but went missing in patches. Aguero looked lively, otter special mention too.

Why isn't Laporte there. Some of his passing in the 1st half was exceptional
