LUCKY LIVERPOOL?

Have looked at the playing stats for last season for Liverpool and City.

Liverpool's three best players Van Dick, Mane and Salah played in all but 2 of last season's premier league games
i.e. in over 98% of their games they had their 3 best players fit.

Van D = played 38 games
Salah = plated 38 games
Mane = played 36 games

City had big injuries to de Bruyne, Fernandindo and real sevothers.

As a doctor myself I would think a good look at both medical staff would be quite useful.

Just a thought.

There won't be many City fans who have not questioned the same. Medical staff?, hardness of pitch?. Could just be luck.

Interesting you are a Doctor though.... I was just wondering? I've burnt my fecking armpits, think some cheap deodorant thrle other half bought. What's best treatment please?

Get a thread up on Off Topic and help your fellow Blues!

Didn't we lose part of the medical team to Liverpool a couple of seasons ago?

Pep likes his own people. Showed that at Bayern when he fucked their club doctor off. He's back at Bayern now I believe.

When the ref allows the opposition to kick our players to fuck, eventually it will take its toll.

On the flip side, Dippers get a freekick/penalty when an oppo player even thinks about challenging. Anybody remember a single bad tackle on one of there players, of late?

Head physio, had been at City for 11 years, left to join them last year.

Its not recent, people have been bemoaning our injury record since at least the days of Bobby Manc.

We hardly had an injury in the first title winning season, I recall a lot of that being attributed to head doctor Phil Batty, he left to work with England's rugby union side after that.

I came up with a theory similar to this.
Liverpool's best players don't get injured because the medical team know how to pick players who are.less likely to get injured. They might even have some DNA or blood test to check the probability.

The disruption to squad, not just the injured player, is massive when a key player is injured. The squad has to adapt again when they come back (and it takes time to find form again).

Ok, possibly mad cap, I'll remove my tin foil hat now.

It went pear-shaped from the Rodwell era!

Let's start a book on how long Mendy'll last.

I reckon he'll last until well after half time.

In his first game back.

Luck? Yes.
Some other aspects? I think so.

Read something a while back that Buvac left Liverpool after some discussion about what players are given by the medics. Buvac was not just an assistant, but played a big part in their fitness regime.

I really find it awkward that an injury prone player like Van Dick had no injury since he came there. Same with those upfront like Salah and Mane.
There is no other team in the world that has this thing and I find it hard to believe the scousers are that special.

It would be fucking shit to say that the fucker is not a good manager, but we might hear something about their injury free situation in a few years.

PS: Our fitness staff might be the worst ever. Same was with Pellers also.
PSS: Mendy is a clown.

Is it luck when the referee has your six?

How many of their players get niggled at with constant fouls the way ours do?

They've had a few long term injuries, Oxlade, Gomez and Clyne. Main difference is their long term injuries aren't to key players, I don't see how that's anything other than luck.

Even Der Spiegel rates City as the best in Europe, despite their garbage from last season.
