Atalanta done, most probably through to the groups, what's your thoughts for one of the two biggest games of the season?

Edited for Match Thread.

Mendy has to play. Him pinning them back a bit is a better risk than anyone trying to contain them out wide.

Play Fern in his natural position otherwise we'll get ran through. The end.

With you on this play Otter & Stones or even Garcia at least the kid is a centre half & move Fern back into his natural position. If he plays Fern CB, 100% he will get sent off for something reckless when we are getting overrun. Mendy will play to keep the width. This will be no place for shit-houses so leave Mahrez & Gundo out & get Foden in there

I'd leave Gundo out but I'd honestly play Mahrez. He owes us one after last season at Anfield and hopefully he'll be fired up. He seemed to always do well against the Scousers for Leicester as well.

I was thinking the same & he would stretch the pitch - I just don't trust him to track back. He didn't do himself any favors last night, I thought he was largely anonymous but he does seem to want to turn up in the bigger games & it would free Bernie up to go into the middle with KDB & Fern / Foden

He had a good game last night. He's imposing and when he gets it together - which seems to be coming - at the end of the day he's a world cup winning left back (well would have been!) whereas the rivals are kids of dubious and inconsistent merits. Neither of whom can defend for toffee either - it it has any importance for Pep

Bassed on last night , Mendy should be a starter on Sunday - he actually started to believe in himself and its the first time Ive seen that from him since before his injury.
We need battlers out there on Sunday and we need to fly out of the blocks like those cunts do time after time.

Bravo should be in the nets IMO , we cannot take a risk with Ed if he has a thigh injury as he wont be taking any long kicks with that handicap.

PeP has to get the back 4 spot on otherwise we are fucked.

Spot on Salford.
Fern is best number 6 in league. He's wasted at the back.
Gun dog slows game down
Central defenders need nous and strength. Garcia and Stones/Otter not ideal but best fit.
Foden and KDB is a no brainer to me
Legs legs legs!!!

I always call it as I see it mate - Mendy had a very good game IMO so he deserves to play against the thieves......... a slightly injured Ed or a fully fit Bravo ? I would have to go for Bravo.

Agree on Fern going back to his normal position. But sadly that means otamendi, who can play well, but...

Don’t really see how we are gonna get through this at anfield. He’ll stick with fern at the back and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ed in goal.

The thought of mane and salah running behind our back line scares me silly.

But I’ve been wrong before and I’ll happily be wrong again.

I for am very concerned about Sunday. Yes, they aren't in their best form, but then again neither are we. We have a terrible record at Anfield historically and recently and the dippers are incredibly strong there just of late.

They have the incentive of knowing a win puts them 9 points ahead. And seriously, if that happens, would they lose 3 games before the end of the season with us not losing any more? Be unlikely it must be said.

Pains me, but a draw is probably the best we can hope for. Which, right now, I'd happily take

Win, lose or draw. we will still be the greatest side that ever played in the Premier League and they will still be a bunch of cunts.

I wouldn't pick Gundogan or Mahrez unless there are injuries or it's a League cup game. They are both not good enough, Gundogan in particular slowing us down.
