Penalty Takers

Except Gundo.
I sweart that Aguero and Jesus are fucking up my nerves everytime they take the ball.

Do we have any decent penalty takers in our squad?
Actually I don't recall Raheem missing any.

Surely KDB would be decent at penalties? But to be fair, all of our players you’d think would be good. But Jesus shouldn’t take one again for a start. And I wouldn’t be unhappy if Kun didn’t take another

Aguero and Jesus surprisingly poor, Jesus missed a penalty again on international duty in the loss to Argentina.

Aguero has the worst record for misses in the Champions League.

I reckon Sterling would relish the duty but I know I'd be bricking it every time he stood over one.

Not got many other options have we?

Good call.

Although he might prefer to take it from the halfway line.

It's weird. In play our penalties are hit and miss.

But I can't remember the last time we lost a shootout?

I know it sounds silly, but I was watching a local team playing on the fields by the Foyle, I was behind the goal when a penalty was being taken. What struck me was the ease with which the taker scored, right bottom corner. Even if the keeper went the right way he would not have got down that quick. Makes me wonder why it is such an issue (I know it is) with the elite of footballers !

Strange isn't it how many we miss during a match, last time we lost a shoot out was against Brighton in EFL cup back in September 2008. We lost 5-3 with Kasper between the sticks, our scorers were Ched Evan's, Elano & Kaptain K, Michael Ball missed!!

We have won the other 8 shootouts since including 2 against the murdering scouse cunts :D

That's mad, over 10 years ago! I've forgot what it's like to lose one!!

Not as daft as it sounds.

Would you fancy getting in the way of the guy who kicks that hard? Would take the keeper into the back of the net if he got in the way!

I was there for that game. Could hardly see the pitch from the away stand.

Balotelli and Yaya were the best in recent times, neither blasted it, but they always scored

I wouldn't worry about it because we dont get awarded very many.

Would much prefer if we worked more on our fluidity and open play finishing both of which have disserted us of late. And that has played a big part in our slump in form.

Raz missed that horrendous one at Leicester in the Carabao penalty shoot out last season..
Kev's taken one and missed, so has David.
The only player with a good record who plays regularly is Gundogan, if Foden ever gets game time I'd give them to him- his pens in shoot outs have been fantastic.

I actually think Gundogan never missed a penner in 120 minutes.
Amazed why the hell Aguero and Jesus take them in front of them.

Mahrez missed one at Anfield.

You are not far off the mark here

I would add learning how to take a corner would be more advantageous as we get by far and away the most corners awarded yet have one of the lowest, if not the lowest, conversion rate into goals. Whenever we get a corner I never think there could be a goal here.

And on the flip side to this we should learn how to defend set pieces. I read somewhere that last season we had a League high that over 40% of the goals we conceded were from dead ball situations.

Get these basic, fundamental aspects of the game right and imagine how many more goals we will score and not concede

A specialist set-piece coach would seem a reasonable addition to the backroom staff.
