MotM v Chelsea

Worn out and fucked off but a good game against a very decent side. Should've had more.

People moaned about Kola, we've spent millions on Mendy to replace him and he's no better. Madness.

I don’t think anyone deserves motm today. Give it to Moonchester.

For me it was a toss up between Fern and Kevin today. Gave it to Fern in the end. He saved us on quite a few occasions. Our problem is not Fern playing as a central defender. It's Fern not playing as defensive midfielder.

Sterling for me. Tireless work rate. Had to do Mendys defending for him on more than one occasion and made some very important tackles, the one at the end of the first half stands out.

I said to the guy next to me that Sterling’s two best moments were defensive blocks near our area!

This was against a team that were above us in the league, a new challenge.

Unusual that there aren't really outstanding candidates from today's game. Kevin was really good for a while but less so as the game went on. Sterling anonymous for much of the game as a forward but kept going and did his bit defensively. Kun not too good and missed that glorious chance.

I thought both center backs were good and it was the team in general that were allowing too many good situations for Chelsea. Mendy not great but not as bad as some on here make out. Seemed to have Kante under control so a shame Ederson deicided to race out.

Moonchester it is then.

Fern1 all day long. Crucial blocks. Interceptions leading to goals. If he was ONLY a midfielder

KDB good, but lost the ball about 4 times in the last half hour

Marhrez absolute pooh till he got is goal and got better n better

Serg, ran his bollocks off

Razza........Dog shit, But his disallowed goal shows how bent the FA & Pogmol is

Merlin. I’m sure his legs have totally gone. More time needed for Foden Truck

Fern for me too.
I was calling Marhrez some choice names at the game, useless cnut being the mildest.
Then he pops up with that goal.

Tough choice I went Kev, but those two were by far the best on park for us. We were unusually sloppy with the ball. Even Ed tried to fuck it up for once.
Tracking back is overrated.

I was at the match and we looked terrible for the first twenty minutes.

I told my grandson we're going to get a right pasting here, you mark my words, but then, out of the blue and from nowhere in particular....

John Stones returned!

Not the ersatz version of recent weeks but the real thing brimming with confidence and adroitness.

John Stones Mark 2 - No panic Stones - the killer back!

It was his intervention on the half way line that lead to the first goal, from there on in he was pinging balls like a good 'un

All hail the new improved John Stones saviour of Man City!

(Actually he was quite good.)
