I'm not sure about that, mate, the money will go straight to the Sheikh, not the club, and we wouldn't be able to spend it on players anyway due to FFP. There's obviously some other purpose, other than the Sheikh sticking half a billion in the bank, and I'm looking forward to seeing the strategic plan unfold.

The Sheikh doesn't pocket anything it seems. Silverlake are putting 500M into the group and in exchange they get a 10% stake in the business. Presumably new shares which have watered down the Sheikh's investment but kept it above the important 75% mark. It's another 500M for the group to spend. I don't imagine they'll splurge it on players, but more likely the sound of it is investment in technological infrastructure.
