MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

Newcastle are vying to secure back-to-back Premier League victories over Manchester City for the first time since November 2003. They ended a 22-match winless run in this fixture with a 2-1 victory at St James' Park in January.

Newcastle United

Newcastle are unbeaten in five home league games since losing to Arsenal on the opening weekend (W2, D3).

Only Leicester have conceded fewer home goals in the Premier League this season than Newcastle's four.

The last time they beat both Manchester sides at home in the same top-flight season was in 1986-87.

Miguel Almiron has had 22 shots without scoring in the Premier League this season, more than any other player. The January signing is yet to score his first goal or provide his first assist in the division.

Newcastle's attacking trio of Joelinton, Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin have only registered a single goal and assist in 45 Premier League appearances between them.

Manchester City

It's the first time in a decade that City have conceded as many as 14 league goals at this stage of a season.

The reigning champions have conceded the first goal in each of their past three league games. They haven't had a longer run since a five-match streak in March and April 2012.

On average, Manchester City have faced a shot on target every 24 minutes in the Premier League this season - their worst ratio since 2010-11.

City have scored in 17 successive Premier League away games, their third longest streak in the division.

They are the division's top scorers this season with 37 goals, and have only failed to score in one of their past 35 league fixtures.

Riyad Mahrez has been directly involved in 10 goals in his 11 City starts in all competitions this season, scoring four and setting up six. He has scored 49 Premier League goals in his career.

Nailed on VAR decision that goes against us.

Nailed on penalty not given.

Nailed on that we get 5 yellows for 10 soft fouls while Newcastle get 1 for the same amout.

The league is that fucked up that the list is endless.

No real holding player and can see Kev dropping into a deeper role to control play from there.

Rather a sluggish midfield. Can't understand why Foden doesn't get a start. We need some oomph!!

Angelino had a very tough night on Tuesday so Mendy coming in is no surprise. Silva for Rodri means more creativity with Gundogan relied on as the holding midfielder. Bernardo didnt uproot trees on Tuesday so Mahrez coming in no surprise. Surely enough there to win.
