Yes we can appeal. But in a court of law anything can happen. Who is to say UEFA haven't already greased the palms of people at the CAS? It is clear, very clear, that a number of organisations have it in for us and they wont stop until their goal is reached. And to be honest, that may not be so very far away.
We had a potentially tricky summer window coming up anyway and this will hardly help. If the appeal is held before the end of the season and is fully overturned then its business as usual. But lets be honest, that timeframe is unlikely. So we go into the window with a very big cloud hanging over us. Now, i myself don't think we'll lose anyone we don't want to, KDB and Sterling and Aguero for example. But it will make it harder to source and obtain our targets we are currently working on.
A more likely scenario of a ban being reduced to 12 months rather than being rescinded would still be very bad just in terms of lost revenue. It would then be interesting to see whether Pep would stay after this summer knowing we aren't in Europe.
Of course, we may get the ban overturned but in my gut i don't think we will. Like VAR, we will get fucked over whatever the rights and wrongs of the case are. We are public enemy number one and we are in the crosshairs right now.
In spite of all of this though, whats the worst thing that can happen? Really? We have won more tophies in the last 10 years than anyone else and we are well set to add to it. If this sets us back a couple of years, then in the grand scheme of things so fucking what. We are miles further on as a club than in 2009 both on and off the field. We may lose a battle or two along the way, but we are well placed to carry on dominating. And we as a club, fans and players and coaches and officials alike will be riled by this action and it will only serve to make us stronger

Manchester City’s disrespect to Uefa & its people is excessive, and the misinformation about FFP rules & processes echoes the anti-EU propaganda of the Brexit campaign. The club should go through due process, which they’ve been given. https://www.theguardian.com/football/
