He eventually got it right when he brought on Fernandhino and Sterling...from then on we became more of a threat.

Maybe if Fernandhino had played from the off then Laporte would have been protected.

Fuck me, loads on this thread have slagged Pep for playing Fern at CB (me included, I think). Now he "got it right" bringing him on for Laporte? At CB? Not sure I understand this thought process......

I was leaning more to Sterling coming on - great sub by PeP as IMO he got his line up completely wrong till he brought him on and if Im not mistaken , Ferna saved us from going a goal down when he came on (or that might have been 2 down if it wasnt for him ).

IMO Fernandhino should have started back in his rightful position as RM were fuckign woeful , the worst Ive ever seen them play to be honest and they were there for the taking today - with better finishing it could and should have been 4-1 to us.

Regardless , 1-2 away is a great result so hats off to Baldie for changing the game later on in the match.

True, no points at this point in the tournament, just win or lose over 2 legs.

Saying that, if there was 6 points given over the course of the tie, with one extra for an away win, we’d currently be on 4 out of 7, almost guaranteeing a win. The only issue is the extra point for more away goals which is still to be contested, which could give them 5 out of a possible 8.

Anyway, apart from the clusterfuck for their goal I did think it was a masterclass.

Unusual set up and he seemed to be willing to sacrifice possession to be more dangerous. Very un pep like but it did the job.

Pep now won more KO games in the CL than anyone. I also think his use of the word history is more to do with the experience others have theDNA, how to win this thing as it is so tough?

No, got the benefit of the doubt on the big decisions that we've never got before in this comp.

To be fair Daz we missed some really good opportunities last night, and we could/should have been out of sight. Similar to the first leg against the rags, but Madrid are better and we need to be careful now in the 2nd leg.
