A few words from the owls

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

A few words from the owls

Postby CuteMancs » Tue Mar 03, 2020 3:19 pm

It feels like I have not done this is ages, but things are just a little bit more settled now, so should be back to business as usual. I probably picked the wrong game to check out the home fans, they are not a happy bunch. This means no match thread, and a lot of comments about the state of their owners. Hopefully there will be much more to come at weekend.

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Michael Oliver
Assistant Referees: Adam Nunn & Stuart Burt
Fourth Official: Peter Bankes

Team Selection

Wildsmith
Palmer
Iorfa
Borner
Fox
Murphy
Luongo
Hunt
Bannan
Reach
Wickham

And the rest…

I would play about 8 at the back and pray they are lenient.

who cares, we are in for world wide embarrassment, anything under 6 would be an achievement, what a flipping shambles we are.

Is there a rule to stop us playing all 3 goalies? Surely even Man City couldn't score past 3 goalies.

Although this game is not important, it is a good game to show we are not a complete waste of space of a squad...4-5-1 would be the best bet.

If they play the under 5's we have a chance and atty may win a header. If it's the under 7's we are doomed

In a way i would like us to play a few young lads because I’m sick and tired of watching the same pathetic crap on the pitch. However if we get embarrassed by city it could really harm the young lads confidence.

I can't wait for Pelepussy v De Bryone in midfield.

A game we should all have been looking forward to, like the Arsenal game under Carlos…Instead, I'm going to find it difficult to watch as it's likely we're going to be utterly embarrassed on national TV. I can accept losing but not in the manner we have done recently against the bottom sides in our division.

I don’t know if I should laugh or cry at the possible thought of Pessy and Nuhiu playing against one of the best teams in the world.

Not going to look great on the telly if what the lady in the ticket office told me is correct…Be like a home game for City cos they play in front of empty seats at the Etihad.

There will be more Man City fans at the game.

Anybody who wants to pay to watch that shower needs medical attention.

There won't be any less than the attendance for yesterday. People will turn up just to watch city.

I haven't yet purchased a ticket, I don't intend to either. I won't even watch it on the Tele…I will however have a bet on Citeh, to win 9-1 at 300/1, would pay for my season. Ticket, which is already purchased.

Oxford gave city a decent game…They played with heart, desire, pashun and looked well drilled…Everything we don’t possess.

Am I right in saying this tie will decided on the night? …Extras time and pens if needed?

Yep defiantly be decided on the night

The sad state of affairs at our club when you think the champions of England and one of the best teams in Europe are coming and we are struggling to sell half the stadium out.

If we sit back they will pick us off …If we attack they will destroy us.

To be fair we do hold a significant advantage over them in terms of their preparation…Pep often likes to do in-depth analysis on the weakness of the opposition in order to be able to take advantage of this. City will have only had a couple of days to work on this for the game against us so no chance they will have had enough time to cover all of our weaknesses!

Well they are as positive as Private Fraser! Let’s hope they are correct.

Cheers CM

Cant say I blame them to be fair. They've been poor for a while and are up against the best cup side in England. I'd be disappointed for us not to win convincingly

Remember going to Hillsboro in 94 or 95 needing a result to stay up. Probably close to 60/40 in terms of fan numbers that day.
