This.

A vaccine is obviously a long ways off, so until they develop some effective anti-virals and improve testing/screening, this virus has the ability to wipe out an entire fixture list for long periods of time. Just look at this personal testimony from a former South African Olympian (read the entire thread):

If football is being played in 4 months’ time it will be a miracle.
"Certainly our programme is a full one, but as a player and as a manager I've always felt that there is only one way to go into a season...and that's to try to win every game.... While we are in four major competitions we shall try to win four major competitions." - Joe Mercer

If we finish this season that will be the last drop of proof anyone has ever needed that the powers that be are DESPERATE to award the Dippers with the title....make no mistake ..this is all about them.

I think we should just stop now and if they want to give the title to dippers , so be it , it will be for ever a tainted trophy anyway.

The relegated teams can stay up in each division and the promoted ones can go up a division and next season we will just have to have 5 teams demoted.

Just get on with it as most of us couldn't give a shit.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

The vyrus is punishing the world because we don't come up with a decision and not award the title to scouse.

In other news, the Canadians said they will boycott the Olympic games. I think it will be cancelled also.

It is going to be a fucking terrible year.

Yes, it’s impossible to predict when it might be safe, with the situation being different in different countries, and so many countries still involved in those competitions.

Whilst it is absolutely the correct decision, am surprised that they have announced it so quickly? National leagues to follow suit ??

As this thing hasn't even reached a peak in any European countries yet, infection and death tolls still rising and on the upward curve each day. We might not even be able to start the 20/21 season on time.

Be very surprised now to see a ball kicked in anger before October, if not Xmas

It won’t be long before the focus changes to saving next season.

Exactly this. There is no way any football authority can plan dates to finish this season, never mind starting next. Sad days but peoples' health is the most important thing right now.

There's (very early) signs it might have peaked in Italy - falling numbers of deaths and new infections for two days in a row.
