Going Forward

20/21 Season will see changes at City. How will we continue the success. Will it be with Pep, will we see Sergio’s goals slowly dry up. Who will we introduce to fill Sergios Boots. Who will be Captain KDB or Laporte? Cancelo and Mendy fit for purpose?

If the rags can get Kane and Sancho in are we in danger of seeing the scum being a serious contender.

If we are out of the CL are we facing a period of regrouping? Will Laporte and KDB stay?

If United got Kane and Sancho they would improve them massively. It was a huge fuck up letting Sancho just go, and if Sane does go and we aren’t in for Sancho I’m not sure what we’re doing.

KDB would and should be captain going forward imo. I wasn’t for it but he’s recently shown he’s grown up from the tantruming and should make a decent captain.

I wouldn’t be bothered if we sold Sterling. Was one of his biggest fans but he’s let us down massively this season and we can’t afford to carry players with no bottle or desire to dig deep when the team isn’t doing well.

LB problem still needs solving. I’d keep Zinc as a decent utility player. Mendy - I wouldn’t shed a tear if we got rid. We should have got Alex Sandro years ago instead of messing about.

We need two decent CBs and someone to come in and learn from Aguero before he leaves. Jesus isn’t and never will be a direct replacement for Sergio - I’d still keep him though as he offers us a different option.

Bravo’s contract is up so we’ll need a backup keeper.

Agree with all of that Mase.

Though the likelihood of Sancho or Kane going to the rags is practically zero

I hope so, but the Sancho link especially has picked up over the last few weeks. I’d rather he go to Chelsea if it has to be an English club - it wouldn’t make too much of a difference to them.

They’re talking about £200 million for Kane, so in a way I kind of hope he does go to the Rags. It would mean they couldn’t spend much more in the same window.

The recession and lockdown in the USA will mean the Glazers businesses there will have suffered a lot. No way they are sanctioning paying even £75M for one player. And it wouldn’t surprise me if there was not a lot of big money activity this window with all the uncertainty around about the resumption of football.

People need to be seriously realistic about when the world comes out the other side of this world pandemic. The world economy is going to collapse lots of countries face recession global companies possibly going bust etc etc . Football and it’s finances will take a huge hit , sorry for being so pessimistic but this is what the world faces . Fortunately we have one of the best squads in the world even if we lose a couple of players , those clubs trying to rebuild will be massively effected as the huge money simply will not be around to spend .

I'm going to be deadly honest , I have not even given football or Man City a second thought for weeks now - I actually don't care and couldn't care less if the season ends now , starts in a month or doesn't start at all till next year.

Once the economies of the world start up again and people are earning money and spending it then Ill re gain my interest.

P.S whatever happens I hope that lump of shit Mendy is sold.

Society will change forever as a result of this , it is not just going to go away until a vaccine is found and that is 12-24 months away from it being available to everybody.
Football will have to change and i am not sure what that is going to look like and quiet honest don't really care at the moment.

One thing for sure , I am not setting one foot back in the Eitihad until i know I am going to be safe and that might take a very long time.

Do you think we could still get anything for him? Seriously who the fuck is going to pay anything for that clown, one look at the amount of appearances the past two years will surely put off any buyers.

We always get unlucky when selling duffers on, yet Liverpool and the rags always seem to come out of it alright. Bournemouth buy half of Liverpool’s cast offs and the rags sell shite to Italy.

I really don't think we can speak about decent football in the next year. Those from the FA or media that think this will start in a month or so are deluded. You cannot start playing football in Italy and Spain until late this summer, if you ask me, so UEFA can fuck off.

I really can't imagine at this moment full stadiums anywhere until at least september.
Now, for City will be interesting to see how this will work out.

Maybe we can use this time to get some transfer ready?

It's hard even to be sure when the transfer window will be at the moment. The PL have abandoned the idea of closing just before the first game as the clubs didn't like closing earlier than their European competitors, which would have meant the next window would run from 10 June - 1st September. I imagine that will now have to be adjusted for any attempt to finish this season and any delay to next season. Any change would also have to be co-ordinated across all the leagues in Europe, unless the PL decides to go its own way again by closing earlier (I don't think it is allowed to close later than UEFA say).

Bear in mind that UK is a few weeks behind those countries and France, UK will be the last country that should be restarting football.

Like Carl says, I've not given it a second thought, uppermost in my mind is whether there will be any work left for any of us come the end of all this. I also think the break and the anticlimax of a broken season will greatly damage the game and people's interest in it.

We're going to come out of all this shit into a completely different world, it somehow feels inappropriate that we just carry on the league season. New start, fresh league for everyone to get enthused by - give the scousers the title for me, but football holding a procession for the cunts if the season starts again just doesn't fit with the new world we will emerge into.

Just watched a re run of Munchens v City in the Caraboa cup on Sky - Fuck me , Mendy fucked up every other attack we did and Sterling was utter Turd.

I bet a pound to a penny Mendy gets injured if we play behind closed doors when season re opens...a fuckign pound to a penny the lump of SHIT injures himself.
Also - we should fine anyone who is overweight when these cunts come back to work.

Agree, one side of this is that I can see fewer transfers. The money isn't going to be around, so why move clubs if it means a wage cut. On the other hand, those clubs with some money will try to make predatory swoops on more troubled clubs in the hope of picking up bargains.

Apparently Pep is considering Xabi Alonso as his new assistant coach. Don't know how I feel about that

I don't like any of the clubs he played for but still like him. Haven't a clue how good a number 2 he'd be but think he'd definitely have the respect of the players.
