Was it under Pearce that we trialled having canned crowd noises? I remember it was Wigan we were playing but not who was in charge.

Nick wrote:Weird of the fan hate of Pearce. He showed the passion we want and smashed it when he first took over. Yeah we were garbage the years after. He was unlucky with Cole getting injured, then Corradi and samaras were both garbage.
If pep did the same with ederson itd be hailed tactical genius. I'm surprised it doesnt happen more. Much prefer managers thinking outside of the box instead of standard 65 and 85 min subs.
On James hes one of the best I've seen for us... him and given were quality.
Re why not start him up front, it was obviously a tactical change to catch them out and we got a pen that Fowler fucked up.
I think the fan hate is well out of order.
He was left in the shite after Keegan spent all the money and legged it, then somehow managed to keep us up against all the odds.
If he hadn't done that, there'd have been no Frank, and then no Sheik.
I'll agree the football was the direst I've ever had the misfortune to witness. It certainly wasn't the best of times, but Psycho did what was was needed.

Did someone force Pearce to play Sibierski on the left wing?
Didn’t Pearce waste money on players like Corradi?
We scored 29 goals all season!
Add to that he’s come out with some sly digs since he’s left, the fan hate is fine.

Weird that, that's one of my abiding memories of that second half of that season, along with Robbie Keane's fucking handstands.
Every game seemed to be in sub zero temperatures, and the wind seemed to somehow get trapped in the stadium and just howl round and round.
As for Keane and those bloody handstands, I must check how many times we were home to spuds in that period, in my memory it was every two weeks.

Don't think any of that's particularly relevant. No-one's disagreeing the football was shite, that he bought some shite players, and that it was a chore watching his teams.
End of the day, he probably saved the club from a slow decline into oblivion.

We finished 4 points off being relegated. Mpenza saves us from relegation that year with his match winning goals.

He did, but then looking at the fact we had the equal worst scoring record along with Watford who finished rock bottom, you can equally say that it was Dunnie and Distin that saved us, as we had quite a reasonable goals against record.
Point is, it was the team that kept us up, and Psycho deserves some credit for that, however dire and depressing the football was.

And who brought in mpenza on a short term deal?
Blues dont slag their own off.
Especially good blokes.
Exceptions list:
Danny mills
Joey barton (watched the great watchalong of qpr (micah is class) and forgot the cunt just booted aguero after already being sent off and the rage in the cunts face.
I think I left school when Pearce took over and always remember my bitter rag mate saying psycho was too good and united needed him !

I thought you said we are around the same age? You don’t remember Edghill getting abuse to the point he was on the verge of tears? Goater got plenty of abuse when he joined. Kolarov having to kick off with our own fans.
We have fans slagging off our own fans for leaving early
Also, Pearce isn’t classed as “our own”. He belongs to Forest.

I prefer joey over pearce. Not even a contest. Pearce is an awful manager and some of the shite he comes out with makes me think he knows fuck all about football.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bog brush over Silva. No Aguero.
Duncan Edwards at centre half
Must have been pissed. Or maybe beany had an influence. Either way that selection is laughable
