Was just before my time so never saw him play in the flesh. Was well thought of by all I have read on him. RIP

Awful news. Youngest ever player for us at 15! A record that will likely to stand for all time

Very good player indeed - until a certain player broke his leg - deliberately in my opinion. Tried to come back but with the medical knowledge of the day it didn't really happen.

RIP

RIP

George Best , shocking challenge . Two of our greatest players in Colin Bell and Glyn Pardoe both careers ended by rags .

Yes I remember both too, was it Buchan who finished Colin? anyway I remember Glyn Pardoe, he started as a forward, then was moved to left back under Mercer/Allison if I recall, fantastic player RIP Glyn.

Yes Buchan destroyed Colin Bells career with a disgusting leg breaker in the Maine Rd center circle , absolutely horrific . City still battered the rag bastards 4-1 I think ?

4-0 on my birthday 12th Nov 1975 my first ever game, taken to the game by a rag father and only other blue in my family uncle. Old fella did one at half time as we were battering them I got home to a a dad who had to accept I was a blue he went bat crazy. Sad and great memory Colin Bell was my dream player.

Very sad news indeed, A great player for City and a role model for many youngsters. Much admired , never seeking the spotlights. Got the job done.

One of our best left backs in my lifetime.

Also Tommy Doyle's grand-father I think.

RIP GP.
