He wants to be very careful what words he uses from now on to describe our club.

As a fan Carl I hope you are right , but I just don’t see the club taking these cunts to task , if the shit they peddle gets in the way / stops companies investing with us they might , but I don’t think they give a crap .. Do they ?

i particulary like this one comment though

"Herbert defends a club who murdered 39 fans but critises a club who have had their ban over turned. Biased journalism."

That's an interesting point: Had the two-year ban stood, we'd have been banned for cooking the books for two years longer than English clubs who did nothing wrong. Liverpool got banned for their fans killing 39 people for one year longer than English clubs who did nothing wrong.

Kind of shows where UEFA's priorities lie.

They will defiantly have someone to look out for anyone trying to damage our image (100% they do) and have a protocol in place as to what action to take in image damaging cases - now we have been cleared from the very top level we will be more inclined to go after anyone that continues these slanderous articles.

Think Mr Herbert's been bollocked.

All references to "grubby" have been removed.

BBC City Hater in chief Banned Roan doesn't know the difference between not co-operating with and obstructing the UEFA investigation. 'Obstruction' doesn't feature in the CAS verdict. Hopefully a libel writ to the BBC from us might assist his comprehension. (can't link his Twitter direct - he's blocked me)

Unfortunately it does seem to mention "obstruction" in the CAS statement:

"considering i) the financial resources of MCFC; ii) the importance of the cooperation of clubs in investigations conducted by the CFCB, because of its limited investigative means; and iii) MCFC’s disregard of such principle and its obstruction of the investigations, the CAS Panel found that a significant fine should be imposed on MCFC and considered it appropriate to reduce UEFA’s initial fine by 2/3, i.e. to the amount of EUR 10 million."

The mainstay of the charge was successfully overturned and we even made sure that CAS confirmed that we were fully exonerated on that charge.

As for obstruction, of course we are going to as the main charge should never have been brought. Personally I’d be fighting the 10 mil but I suppose CAS have to keep UEFA sweet and help them pay the bills.

I do have a question though, when CAS say ‘MCFC did not conceal equity funding of sponsorship’ or words to that effect, does that suggest that we did put money in but UEFA had already accepted it as fair value, meaning we were allowed to top it up. Or, was it simply that the ADEC subsidised Etihad?

I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
