Except when Bangyang left him standing at Wembley.
Hopefully he will learn a lot from that !!
He has a couple of shortfalls to get over, namely height and pace, but he does look a top defender in the making.

Young CBs make mistakes, it happens and its going to happen again, not being critical, its just natural.
Going by recent games its looks very like Pep is going to start him against RM, which, even given the advantage we have with the 2 away goals, is still a big enough call to make. I dont think he has ever played a champions league game before. And as Fern/otter/stones have not played much since lock-down, hard to see Pep changing now, but you never know whats flying through that bald head..........

Tosin may come back now. City won’t buy three CBs and we need four.

Tosin is nowhere near the level in the PL, let alone title contenders

I’d be keeping otter over stones - we’ve also got fern, bring in a beast like kouba and we have good options

Of course the question that is raised every year and I always think I’m too lazy to work out - what does our overseas / English / HG quota look like

what possible reason is there for pep to announce this now, barely 24 hours ahead of one of the most impt games of the season, a game in which garcia is (or should be) likely to start??? how on earth will this help us tomorrow or in our negotiations to sell him for the maximum fee?? we are so f*cking stupid when it comes to selling our own players!!

Because, my guess, he is pissed he will leave.

Well there likely goes another one I suppose. Sigh.

Look, he's not a Manc and not even English.

He came through Barca's academy.

Pep started to play him more (probably realising he might leave) but it was too little too late it seems.

He isn't guaranteed anywhere near as much time since we are pursuing another CB and since Barca are a mess, Pique is not exactly young, and he's from there their will probably more patience.

This isn't the same as with Brahim as Garcia is a better talent at this point and Barca have more space for him.

Look, we've "used" plenty of players we bought for the academy and sold them when we didn't want them or were offered a good price.

The street goes both ways and I don't love it, but it's okay.

If we let him go for a decent enough fee + sell on clause it could turn out to be as okay as it can given what our situation is and you never know what can happen.

If we weren't signing Ake and/or another CB I think he would stay. Would you want to take that risk given our concerns? I'm not certain he's ready to be reliable enough just yet.

Interested if he was asked about Garcia or he decided to say it. If it was the second, then he is pissed.

Well he’s either thick or he’s Barca through and through - they are a basketcase of a club and one Messi injury away from being a 6th place La Liga side. With the money they’ve spunked on wasters like Griezmann they make even the Rags look shrewd.

Pep is stubborn so I think by announcing Garcia wants to leave that means he won't be starting any more for us.

I'd still be ok with him starting because both Stones and Otamendi are useless and we know neither of those are good enough for us. But I can see Pep wanting to stand firm and keep Garcia on the bench for the remaining games this season.

Even if Garcia wants to leave, we should still utilise him for the remaining games this season.
