At what point will they realise that model doesn’t work?

Exactly, but I reckon is something to do with work permit.

Good point.

But how many have we sent on loan and sell on for a few million profit? This is our business model for the Academy. It is a cash generator for probably 80/90% of players in there and if one or two become first teamers like Foden and Garcia then brilliant. But first and foremost, it’s our ATM

I’d disagree with the 80/90% I think more are let go for free than us getting money for them.

Thought I’d look into the Everton v Salford game and couldn’t believe that Neville and Carragher were on there, RatBoy because he is a part owner and Gobber because he would be the arch enemy. Then I realised, Sky have turned it into the WWE where they also contribute to certain club coffers. Like when they aired a Salford City game with extra sponsorship from SkyBet. That one game outstripped the rest of the leagues fortune for a year and helped to pay for a player that no other club would be able to pay.

Glad they lost and it was a force to remind me of how the broadcasters can manipulate leagues to their advantage.

Same thing again last night though wasn't it? Show the game live and Salford will get some of the cash - admittedly, less than if they were at home but no way was that a game that should have been shown. Shows how deeply entrenched Neville and co are - pulling strings at Sky to help their club

Thanks CTID.

Tenner's a bit steep, a bit extortionate actually.

They should at least quote the kid correctly.

Couto has previously spoken about choosing City over Barcelona, and how a conversation with Pep Guardiola persuaded him to choose a move to the Etihad. Part of his decision was the promise of joining the first team for pre-season training this summer to fight for a place in the squad, rather than being immediately sent out on loan.
