The record number of tests processed in a single day in the UK stands at 208,835 on 27 August. Or 200,000,800,000,835,000 if you're Priti Patel.
After your predicted 500 thousand deaths in the UK , Id not comment on numbers if I were you.
I didn't, though, did I?
What I said was:
We'll see what the figures are by the end. Ultra-conservative estimates are putting a final death toll at around the half-million mark (and that's just direct deaths from the disease, not deaths resulting from an over-stretching of emergency services), with most 'realistic forecasts' seemingly falling in the single-digit millions.
Talking about deaths internationally.
And that if no measures were put in place, the 40,000-deaths-internationally barrier would be passed on 31 March (note: it happened on 31 March, with the figure being just below 43,000 at midnight GMT) and 920,000 by 1 May (which never happened, in part because measures were put in place).
That compares with you claiming that any estimates putting the death toll in the UK by the end of 2020 at above 28,000 were "pure speculation".
