Officials & VAR 20/21

Officials & VAR 20/21

Postby Beefymcfc » Sat Sep 12, 2020 8:33 pm

Thought we may as well have a new thread for the season to talk about the good and bad we may see.

I hear that the monitor was used today by Moss who overturned his original decision. Surely a good thing if it came to the correct outcome.

Also, should the first Liverpool penalty have been given. I read that it was blasted at him and it skimmed off the Leeds players knee which took it onto his arm. Under the revised rules for this season I’m fairly sure it shouldn’t be given as a penalty so why not overturned?

Watching MOTD and you can’t really argue against Liverpool’s first penalty but makes you realise how bent it was last season when you think about the TAA handball which was much further away.

And, as for the sending off, he was right to overturn himself but why the fuck give it in the first place?

2 - 0 to the vermin on penalties, the rags will be very disgruntled and wanting to catch up, or over take.

Can’t wait to see how this turns out and the reason I started the thread. Usually the officials are very weary of giving penalties early doors as it sets a precedence for the rest of the season yet we get one for the Dippers within 4 mins of kickoff. It was also one that was very similar to one last year that the very same ref discounted out of hand.

Oh, and how quick was he to give them? His whistle seemed to go even before the bloke lifted his arm and before the Dipper hit the ground.

Seen the Chelsea penalty which looked spot on, as the rules now apply. What pisses me off is that a player can basically kick the ball into touch but as long as the ‘keeper touches him he gets a pen.

Never did understand the rule and seems to have only been adopted for certain teams.

Finally got to see some football for the last week but had to do with MOTD last night. What the fucking he’ll is going on, they’re just making it too obvious. At first I thought it was because they want to have high scoring games to give it that ‘entertainment’ value due to empty stadium and the need for the broadcaster to bring in the subscribers, but looking at the way some of these decisions are made it makes me think that they not only want the high scoring games, but manipulating the game to give them a title race with multiple teams. The Rag games was farcical and the way Everton took the points just compounded the issue.

The direction on officiating has now gone full tilt and we can now officially class our sport as entertainment, just like WWE.

I think awarding a penalty after the final whistle was blown warrants a bit of a rethink

The season has been decided, it would be ‘Incredible’ if we even get a chance.

Top 4 will be an achievement this season.

Well, I waited to see the anger in the studio for Mane’s punch/elbow with continuous replays similar to when Aguero was shown throwing an arm but, for some reason, there seems to be very little interest.

Was also waiting for them to show the 2 handball incidents that led directly to a goal and, yet again, there seems to be no appetite at all, wiped out of existence.

VAR being used, or not used, to manipulate results for the vermin yet again, its so obvious. If that was us we would have seen red and goal disallowed.
It really is very hard to take this corrupt league seriously.
They really do hate us.

Regardless of whether its intended sir not (it certainly feels like it is), the inconsistency with decisions, laws and VAR is staggering. It's putting more and more people off premier league football.

It's bad enough that we've turned to shit, but with this added it's a tough pill to swallow.

Reading the reports of dipper game you would think they are the greatest team ever assembled, no reference at all to Mané elbows or dodgy handball goals, fucking bent. The football media are now just the same as any media, full of propaganda and their own narratives

I avoided and avoided, but saw what Mane did.

Until the moment clubs will start and talk about this shit, they will get all the protection in the world. Simple.
For me, I hate this league with passion.

I used to think this was the best league in the world. Now it's a pit of shite.
