Quite probably

As the captain is the managers voice on the field it’s ridiculous for the captain not to be the managers pick.

Remember reading last year that Silva was the player's choice.

I'd imagine DeBruyne will have the armband more often than not.

The Catalan quashed suggestions that he had already agreed an extension and the truth is that no one – not even sporting director Txiki Begiristain – knows what will happen.

Sportsmail understands Guardiola is likely to leave a decision until midway through the campaign, one basically centred on whether the squad is still reacting to his methods.

He said that no one from the club has discussed a new contract with him. Probably the biggest bullshiter in world football!

It's the players that pick the captain and has been that way for a few seasons now. Not sure what's the problem. If Dinho isn't on then the armband probably goes to whoever was ranked next and is starting or on the pitch.

Assuming they use a ranking system (pick choices ranked 1 to 3) so there's more consensus, clarity who gets the armband, and buy in.

He's not, Pep was alluding to the fact it takes Aguero a few games to get up to speed after he returns from injury. Arsenal game I reckon he'll be in the squad.

Big fish little pond springs to mind

His attitude stinks, spends more time complaining to the ref, he'd fit in well at klanfield being the victim he is.

I personally think it was Pep’s way of telling the board to pull their finger out with transfers.
