1 or maybe 2 good performances in almost 1 year.
Sterling has done so much more for us for longer, and carries this team far too often, but gets blamed.
I am a massive supporter of his, but why is he not being singled out in the same way then?
Btw, I think things can change, and the real point is singling 1 or 2 players for our problems I find to be short sided.
Pep's (and yours) undroppable player Gundo was shit .....yet again.
lol. Mate i have defended Gundo. You are correct, yet it was not that he was without flaws, but that he has qualities as well. Surrounded by others who can cover for his weaknesses then he can have his value. His assist ability has dropped significantly and lest we not forget he had some serious injuries.
That brings me to Sane. Who also tore his ACL. That's the same injury that Gundo, Mendy, and now VVD have experienced. Players who rely less on pace, from what I have seen, can still be similar as Gundo has, but even he is not the same player he was before the injuries.
Leroy may show some quality but let's see. Meanwhile Sterling was playing brilliantly for us for a long while, and his finishing was being credited as improved, yet some want to say it has not.
To me sports fans love to find scape goats when things go wrong. It's natural, but also we have to check our emotions.
I react strong to defend criticisms of players, but do not mistake that for not criticising them either.
Sterling can problematic as well. Don't get me wrong. I see it, yet what is going on is also we have no striker fit to play,.
I watch YouTube videos with CityXtra whinging on about Delap not playing.
No one I read who says this ever seems to take into account the hierarchy of a team made up of "nice guys" but still with massive egos.
Managers have to MANAGE that. It isn't fantasy football like fans want it to be. These are real people with emotions that can impact the entire squad.
You drop Mahrez, who may be a bit tempramental, or whoever else has been as key players during title winning seasons, and think of themselves as great, and aren't exactly shite and then drop them so easily. See what happens. Where is any players' faith that the manager will back them when they are struggling? They may decide to not stay and that causes other problems in the changing room.
I NEVER HEAR ANYONE WHO WHINGES ON ABOUT PLAYER PERFORMANCES AND MANAGERS EVER MENTION THIS REALITY.
