18 years ago today, the last every derby at Maine Road.
Nev fed The Goat - got so much shit from fans thereafter that Taggart subbed him off.
What a game.
A week before my GF dumped me because I insisted I was going to the game, even though it was sold out (someone via MCIVTA sold me some after the row).
Well worth it, brilliant brilliant game.
Happy 9th November mate

Berkovic ran the show. I remember their fans didn’t take it well after the match. Nose to tail outside Maine Road and they were launching glass bottles and cones over cars at fans across the road.

Just after my 18th birthday and the first time we beat them since I started supporting city. Amazing day up there with one of the best in my life, got into the local nightclub for first time ever to top it off!

Berkovic - his performance was legendary, he tendered his heart and soul 100% into that game.
Remember the noise when he got stretchered off? He sat up and urged the crowd to be even louder as they carried him off if I remember rightly.
Was buzzing like mad after that game. A perfect day.

The first time I was ever able to go in to school on Monday with my head held high.

I’ve just seen that on the Gram. What a player. Rumours are once the coach broke down on the way back from Chelsea away, so Kolarov gave everyone a piggy back up the M6 home.

A week before my GF dumped me because I insisted I was going to the game, even though it was sold out (someone via MCIVTA sold me some after the row).

Is that the site that had every team line up from yesteryear on it? Used to love looking at all the old lineups esp to games id been to. Is it still going or is there a better resource for this info?

I think you're thinking of mcfcstats.com , I think the guy who ran got sick or possibly died and his family were going to try and keep it going in his honour

Mcivta was more a collaborative fanzine by half a dozen blogger's iirc

I've watched this game at a friend's house who had an illegal satellite receiver in his house.
We spend half a day trying to find Sky.

I recall for that favor I gave him my old Sega.

That's the one. A great weekly email. Heidi Pickup was the editor.

Love this. Had been living up in Carlisle and coming back on the supporters club coach for the home games that and previous season. Got a job back in Salford so brought my gear back on the coach one last time, dropped the gear off early doors and then straight out on the pop. Great day

Just had a look at the highlights again on YouTube

Standing in the tunnel and the first words heard are cunt Tyler saying City have no Mancunians, not even a Lancashire lad or even an Englishman in the team.
