The problem is (I am convinced) Baldie is surrounded by a staff of "yes men". No one is telling him he is wrong, they all agree.
I recall Pellers had that hitman as an assistant.

I fear this is the problem too.

The devotion to the Rodri-Gundogan partnership. The inability to make subs at the right moment.

Good assistants should be able to point out to Pep when he’s missing things. Ours don’t seem to be doing this.

Deserved I think.
To me it is no coincidence that since his arrival we have become more pragmatic and solid, tightened our defense,
more conservative in midfield and now that the players are used to the 'new' style the next step is to convert it into goals, which is happening.
This guy is like Pep's conscious.

And the target is the CL.

This guy now deserves an appreciation thread surely ???
Incredible transformation based on rock solid defence possession and movement and subtle tactical changes that allow our defenders to play in midfield and a system that doesn’t require a striker It’s a new kind of football for sure . Yes we all gave this guy stick at the start of the season but we were in transition with a new young squad adapting to change . The difference between us and Arteta,s Arsenal yesterday who we all thought was irreplaceable when he left us is huge both technically and gulf in class .
Funny old game isn’t it !

Yeah that’s the point !
We were tepid and lost at the start but given time we gave transformed into possibly the most formidable team in Europe right now . Ideas and a change of direction always need time and this guy is a whole new level better than Arteta. Who seriously would have thought that last summer or even last autumn?
