The Covid Crew at The Swamp

Must admit I got bored reading what the rags had to say today, just not in the mood. I think you get the point though, they are both confident and desperate to win this. I do not care what competition we play them in, I want to destroy them. I am going to stick with the game until they get their first penalty

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Martin Atkinson
Assistants: Harry Lennard, Nick Hopton
Fourth official: David Coote
VAR: Jonathan Moss
Assistant VAR: Lee Betts

Team Selection

Henderson
AWB - Bailly - Maguire - Telles
Fred - Matic
Rashford - Bruno - Pogba
Martial

And the rest…

Should go into this full of confidence. We can mix up the team and still get a result. Looking forwards.

We can play our first team against covid stricken City, rest everyone for the Watford game…Don’t even name a first 11 player on the bench.

Is Ole capable of getting more than a semi?

Friday to Wednesday is a good gap. This match has to be prioritised with the Watford match getting the alternate XI. Really looking forward to it and hoping the boys can get us to the final.

Just don't bore draw it again like the last meeting. Go all out with a strong team and attack.

In their current state and COVID, our best chance to get past them. This can be a pretty nice trophy to warm up for our title challenge this season ! Get it in.

We’re going to win on penalties.

We can beat these.

Looking forward to it. United owe them one for the league cup semi final exit last season. I don't see many changes to the starting 11, perhaps Matic for McTominay.

One leg against a city team coming back from Covid? Run then into the ground lads!

Without covid we beat them with our first team...They are not the city that had Aguero, Toure and Silva terrorizing us.

Wouldn't be as confident as others... This is their trophy over the last few years, 3 in a row and 4 of the last 5. They practically own this competition.

Rotate hard in these two cup games if we have any interest in challenging for the league. People underestimate the fact that we’ll have 10 games in January most likely which can leave us dead on our feet by the end of it? Do you really want to throw a real title challenge for this cup? Hopefully Ole is smart enough to recognize this and rests Bruno/Martial/Rashford/Fred/Pogba/Baily.

City play Chelsea Sunday so we have 2 days extra rest. They also have the covid issue…Huge chance for us to get to our first final under Ole. It won't be an easy game though. I'm going for another 2 1 win for us…Come on Utd.

All I ask is no Bruno/Rashford to start against either city or Watford.

Wouldn't have been putting huge weight on this but given where we are in league winning a semi final is a big confidence boost and City really should be weakened. For that reason we should go full strength…2-2 and United on pens.

Well it’s a massive game and we clearly head into this as the favourites. We can afford to rest players for the Watford game next weekend, so I fully expect us to start our strongest 11.I”m confident that we will get the job done.

Defend deep and counter attack.

I would ring in the changes for this. Not too bothered about tbh…Would be nice to get to the final and win it. But not the end of the world if we dont.

This City team is nothing to fear. They're in decent form but so are we. Confident we'll out score them.

First time in a long time, I'm confident of beating City.

I was confident until witnessing Citeh dismiss Chelski so easily.

They’re putting in a prime 2018 City performance today. Annoying that we have them right after this when their confidence can’t be higher. Neither can ours though, so let’s see. It will not be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination.

Chelsea are playing with a single pivot today and poor Kante is getting run ragged. Whilst they may still cause us problems, there's no way Ole will play with a single pivot. He'll make sure he locks down the middle of the park.

Chelsea play tactically naive football and frankly ole is much better than lampard in that department…This will be a game of equals and no point assigning a favorite tag to any team.

Despite City destroying Chelsea, they still had quite a bit of space to operate in that first half and I'd be confident in Bruno, Pogba, Rashford etc doing more with it than Chelsea managed today.

Positive is that it's a single tie game and we're coming in on a run of 4 home league wins…No reason to rest anyone and a great chance to bank a final a good few months away.

Must win game. Full strength team. We can rest players for the Watford Cup game. Ole needs to get this team to a final. It'll be a huge tonic as we navigate the rest of the season.

If they turn up and we turn up, they win. Let’s hope that they don’t turn up.

Don't care how we setup as long as Fred is there to combat those tiny tiki taka wannabes. Dont even mind James getting minutes.

They're looking good again.

Wish this was a league fixture instead. City aren't at full strength despite what the did to Chelsea.

Fred is going to keep De Bruyine in his pocket. Best performance of his career, coming up.

As soon as they win a couple of games it goes to their heads and they become obnoxious again.

I absolutely fucking hate when we play these cunts.

Can barely bring myself to watch derbies these days, I'm just a mess of nerves. Then add that 90% of my mates are rag wankers, revelling in all the dodgy decisions, the performances (and stats) of Penandes and how AWB is apparently the best RB ever... Losing causes that much more pain, amplified by vindication of any delirious views they hold. I'm still reeling from losing 3 of 4 games vs them last season. Our draw earlier this season was a turgid, forgettable affair. Masterstroke from Baldiola and us getting (and scoring) a super dodgy pen in the game would be a dream.

Talk about being a cocky lot, they’re very confident the thick twats.

Embarrassed themselves in Europe and there defence is absolutely diabolical 24 goals shipped in 16 league games. Think they’ll be taken down off there high horse tomorrow night and rightly so.
