MotM v Brighton

Postby Beefymcfc » Wed Jan 13, 2021 8:03 pm

As Phil said, we dug deep tonight against a difficult Brighton team. I know a lot will go for the aforementioned but I thought there were a few who put a real shift in for the team.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Seeing as how Foden was the match winner he gets my vote.

But Bernie was decent. Dias and Stones looking more and more solid together every passing game. Ederson did what was needed as well when called upon.

A satisfying victory in tough conditions

Bernie for me, but that block Stones made at Maupay. Fantastic.

I was giving it to Foden before that Stones tackle, incredible, I was sure we were conceding.

Foden for me. I actually think Pep has managed him really well. He's not as good overall as some of the rabid hysteria we've heard on here on the last 2 years (no names mentioned). But when he is good he is good and boy he knows how to finish, which is different to most of them out there and wins us matches, like this one!

Who voted for Razza? Come on joker, own up!

Totally agree with this and Phil as my MOTM too.
I'd say there are 3 jokers. As well as the one who voted for Sterling, there's 1 for Mahrez and 1 for Cancelo.
Cancelo must have given it away 20 times last night. Surprised someone didn't give it Zinchenko.

Here's an interesting one on Mahrez. I don't think Michael Brown watched the whole match

https://www.mancity.com/news/mens/micha ... e-63746218

This is Mahrez all over - that bit when he left the 2 blokes for dead on the touchline was absolutely world class brilliant. For most of the rest of the game he was dogshite. One of those players where you are never sure what you get (like that match he scored 3 and we all loved him again)

I think Pep should adopt a new policy - if it's clear he's on a bad day take him off after 30 minutes (at most)
