I seem to recall Gundogan and Cancelo being complete and utter tosh who should be taken out back and shot to put US out of our misery for some reason, but maybe I was imagining things.

Cancelo. What a midfielder he is.

We've lost Tin Tin for a few weeks and the whole team has turned up, nah the squad ( ex Mendy). Without Kün , Tin Tin and Walker in defence. City have been fantastic. Half time with the scouse behind us by 7 The Media Darlings.... i'll take that .

We’re now seeing City swarming all over the Opposition to get turn overs. That was a feature of our two PL title wins.

Not by all.

Instant reaction during a City game has to be expected, it’s just the way a lot of Blues are wired.

Not really the case. They both were given loads of shit, and not only in the match thread. Conversely, Sterling was revered not so long ago.

Like me, does anybody else really love how we turn one of the FBs into a CM (Zinchencko took over the role later in the game) allowing the likes of Gundogan to move into forward positions and exploit the space?

It’s a continuation from last season, trialled the season before with Walker, and is now really paying off.

Of course you are right but, again, that’s the way some are wired. Once you flip at what is a supposed bad player then it’s hard to go against that original opinion. I’ve seen guys at the ground berate players like Sergio because he missed a chance 10 games before, even though he’s scored 19 goals since. Fuck, I even had 2 guys behind me who were complaining that we could’ve lost the 1st PL title because of Sergio’s naivety of not going down under a touch. They were soon put right.

There are a lot of fans who still like to complain about anything and everything but I’m not sure why in today’s situation. Like I said, it’s just the way we’re wired.

Yes very impressive. Full backs become midfielders in possession and back to full backs out of possession. Also love the rotation or players within a shape. Doesn’t matter who goes where they just slot in for each other.

I don’t know where this cancelo came from. Looks fucking immense as a creative player.

Went with Gundo as he was sensational and I’m glad all our creative players were tested early. Well done Pep

Cancelo another great game. When Kyle comes back in maybe Cancelo can just play midfield in KDBs absence?

I'm probably a bit sensitive. I still remember going to spuds in my youth and a couple of lads slagging Bowyer when he came on as sub. "Wouldn't have him as a ball boy at Maine Road" were the words used. Didn't understand it then, and still don't.

I hear you. Before I go on I should say the same happens, in my experience, with fans of other clubs and around the world. It depends on the type of fan you are.

I know some don't like when I compare anything from where I come from (sometimes I do think that matters btw), but in the Northeast of the States the "TalkSport" culture or as we call it the "loudmouths" of "Sports talk radio" culture is very similar so I am quite familiar with this as I am from and live there. That's partially why I am one who talks back or tries to say something as I hear it all of the time here too.

Quick to boo your own players or the team, or even new players who haven't even played a game, as part of a large "what have you done for me lately" fan based which is pretty RAMPANT around here.

New York (City), Boston and Philadelphia fans are the most widely known for this and have the worst reputations.

There's even a dark comedy/drama film that explores this world called 'Big Fan' about a guy who listens to talk sport radio and obsesses about one NYC NFL club.

During one game in Philadelphia an NFL player they hated on a rival club got a clearly serious career ending back injury during the game and the fans cheered. He was a player to rile up the opposition fans - think Adebayor - don't get me wrong, but that is normal. Watch some of this to see what I mean about Philly fans (NYC fans can be very similar) where "passion" can come out with a lot of vitriol.

Watch on youtube.com

This is a long way of saying it happens here too. Being from a place where that happens I am always calling it out, because I think if you talk a lot of shit that I think is flawed, guess what? So do I get my moments to point it out then and later. I actually have acted like some of this when I was younger (I can admit).

Fans don't get an entirely free pass to call players c*nts and all of the worst possible things of all time. Isn't disagreeing part of being fans? You don't get to get away with saying things unchecked. That's part of the fun.

It can be fine, really, but if one says what they want then so do i get to bring it up later when it sounds wrong. Of course, I know some fans like this then think threatening or actually engaging in harm towards those who explain this is the next way to get back. I've seen it before.

Maybe the louder ones think twice about jumping to judgement, maybe not. Okay, probably not. We both get to say our part and that's how it works to me.

I think he just needed time. After all, he was a first pick for Portugal, he’s now the first name on the sheet.

Let’s just say he has potential ;-)
