We go again....

Just reading CM's view from away end, it turns out the Blades next game on Wednesday is a real six pointer, I wonder if Wilder's eye and mind will be more focussed there?

Nathan still absent along with Sergio and Kevin.

Pep mentioned in his presser they will be hard to play against in their 5-3-2 formation, so I hope it's not going to be another slow paced game as I really enjoyed our last game.

Heart says 4 or 5 -0
Head says 2-0

And now from the Beeb

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

City are unbeaten in the past 11 home meetings in all competitions since a 3-2 league defeat at Maine Road in October 1987, in which Chris Wilder played the full 90 minutes for Sheffield United.

The Blades have not won any of the nine Premier League meetings, drawing three, losing six and scoring just one goal.

City have kept a clean sheet in each of the past eight home league encounters.

Manchester City

City
are vying to win 12 consecutive games in all competitions for the first time.

They are unbeaten in 18 matches in all competitions, conceding just four goals.

Manchester City have won seven top-flight games in a row for the first time since August 2019.

City are unbeaten in their past 32 Premier League home fixtures against sides starting the day in the relegation zone, winning 28.

They have conceded just one goal in the 10 league matches in which Ruben Dias and John Stones have started together.

Ilkay Gundogan could become the first German to score in four consecutive Premier League appearances.

Sheffield United

Sheffield United have won two of their past three Premier League games, having won none of their previous 20.

The Blades have scored four goals in those three matches, as many as they had in their previous nine.
They have won four of their five most recent fixtures in all competitions.

Chris Wilder's side are aiming to win away at both Manchester clubs in the same top-flight season for the first time since 1973-74.

John Egan could make his 100th league appearance for Sheffield United.

David McGoldrick has scored five of Sheffield United's 12 Premier League goals this season

I’m amazed you could find that on the Beeb, they seemed to have binned any City or Shef Utd reporting since midweek.

Went 4-0 on my sky super 6. Not sure why because 1-0 would be a better bet

Been fairly close games but, to be fair, there’s only been 3 since they’ve been back. Won all 3, four goals scored, none against. The last game was jammed between 2 CL games so we didn’t go full tilt and last season we had them during the busy period over Xmas (Boxing Day game) with the other coming just before 2 important cup games.

I mention the above as I think we’ll be doing the same, trying to conserve a bit of energy but the way we’re playing anything can happen. After the previous game against Brom I was not expecting that in midweek, it was mesmerising, especially in the first half, and no player gets tired playing football like that.

I’m going a cautious 2-0 but could easily be 5 or 6 if we click and SU see it as a chance to recover following their superb performance less that 3 days ago.

They should be docked a point for daring to show up. 8-0.

Your City line-up to face the Blades!

XI | Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko, Fernandinho (C), Gundogan, Bernardo, Torres, Foden, Jesus

SUBS | Steffen, Stones, Sterling, Rodrigo, Mendy, Mahrez, Cancelo, Garcia, Bernabe

Too many changes imo. I agree with some of them. But too many.

We are playing the bottom of the league side at home. We should be able to perm about twenty sides from our squad who are capable of getting the win.

2-0
Torres

I suppose he has to rotate, but the in form players like Stones and Cancelo could be missed

Cancelo and Rodri will be missed. Never thought I’d type that.

What worries me is golem did exactly the same rotating a load of players against these and that didn’t end well did it

Be nice to see how Laporte plays alongside Dias.

We should win this at a canter kets just hope it's not a typical City day.

5 - 1. Them to score first.
