Humphreys is total twat, he's got a chip on his shoulder for sure. I was very lucky to spend the weekend in the BRDC camp with all the teams for Silverstone F1 a couple of years ago. We were sat having drinks on the club house balcony while watching him interview a few drivers live and no more than a couple of metres away. All he's angle was against Lewis Hamilton, it was just a jibe after jibe. Now I appreciate a lot don't like Hamilton and fair enough but let's just put this in to context. In front of the BRDC at the biggest race of the British race calender and all he wanted to do was bash the the current best British and indeed world F1 driver. Itbwasnt going down well and he just kept going. In the evening we attended the BRDC ball, it was filled with famous people from tv, film, music and sport. During the charity auction he was at it again, Nigel Mansel kept sending a few looks his way to say shut up but nope he wouldn't. Afterwards I was at the bar and he stood next to me, I got a round in and turned to be right in front of him. I couldn't help myself and called him out on his behaviour in front of a couple of girls he was with. He's just a complete bell end, shortly after that he lost his contract with them

Loaded with rag pundits, the comment after the final whistle was something like..."As much as we don't want to, I suppose we have to compliment City on their performance."
When City comlained, BT just publicly took the piss.
When BTwere advertising their coverage of the semis. They only advertised 3 of the teams, ommiting City completely from the semi line up.
That has to be the biggest insult handed out to any English club...They subsequently had to apologise to City for that trick.
This is not a new thing...In the 1970s, City happened to be thre only English club left in any of the 3 Euro comps and had just beaten Shalke away. Considered a great result.
The next morning the English news media had led with an inconsequential story about another club and the report of City's win relegated to the inside pages. The City party shared that return flight with members of the press corps and Mick Doyle saw his arse.
So the story goes, Doyle completely lost it, screaming at the press corps and having to be dragged of one journo who Doyle was physically attacking.
The rags have always had power with the press and have used their friends to ensure City have never got a fair shout.

I'll always remember them scheduling the Leeds/Chelsea cup final replay at the same time we were playing in the cup winners cup final, then showed it on both channels (there were only 3 at the time).
Some things never change.

Read the Doyle story in his book but although I think I knew that the EWC final was not televised live, I did not know that was the reason. Ha fuck me, who knew it went back rhat far? I know that the owners are not malicious and more for the positive PR, but surely enough of this shit now, we should start banging heads and banning these rats from our place when the doors are back open
