The View from the Away End

Another day, another game. I can’t say I am over what happened on Sunday, but three points tomorrow evening would help. These comments are taken before and after the weekend, but the sentiment remains the same. Apparently, it’s a free hit for the saints

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Jonathan Moss
Assistants: Marc Perry, Dan Robathan
Fourth official: Martin Atkinson
VAR: Andy Madley
Assistant VAR: Stephen Child

Team Selection

Forster
KWP - Bednarek - Vest - Bertrand
JWP - Jankewitz
Djenepo - Minamino
Adams - Tella

And the rest…

Free hit…Who knows. It would just be typical of this season if we halt their winning run.

I think we can end their run.

Our winning run has to come to an end eventually. If we’re complacent, it could be this game.

As said above - free hit.

Anything below 9 against will be a bonus.

WBA got a point there and they are shit. City will have the league wrapped after tomorrow. 3-0

Play two narrow banks of 4, JWP just in front of them and Tella up top on his own. Let City have the ball out wide and try to flood the middle defensive third with players. Might keep the score down.

Pray.

Free hit..... but we need respectability as a bare minimum. If we're not going to get anything from the game, let's make sure that we don't collapse and ship another hat full of goals. KISS concept - get out with credibility in tact and move on.

In the past I've always fancied us to give City a good game, but they look absolutely devastating at the moment.

City will rest a load of players but still have £30billion of talent on the pitch and win at a canter.

Obviously we’ll lose but city haven’t been thrashing teams really so a heavy defeat would be a disappointment. Hopefully we can conserve some energy for a winnable match v Brighton.

Luckily, with the league won and bigger fish to fry, City will have no interest in running up a cricket score. Once it gets to 3-0 hopefully they'll take their foot off the gas, and both sides will play out the remainder of the match as a nice, friendly no-contact walkabout. Maybe a cup of tea and chat on the side lines.

If we can keep KDB, Marhez, Jesus, Silva, Sterling, Foden, Gundogan quiet we will be ok…Oh nearly forgot Aguero as well.

Feels like we've been stitched up a bit with this one, game due to be end of April when City could have been distracted by Champions league semi final etc,
instead they moved league cup final to that weekend and squeezed our game in now…At least we'll have a blank weekend end of April to have a rest I suppose, could be useful when rescheduling FA Cup semi final and final games.

God their bench is fantastic. No point in even wanting someone to be suspended for our game.

We’ll no doubt feel the full force of retaliation from them if this result stays the same. Just what we need, a wounded Manchester City!

They could have saved this lack lustre and wasteful performance for Wednesday

So we go into this game as the 'inform' team

Took the opportunity this afternoon to watch Man City and compile a scouting report…City are fucking shite, nothing to fear.

When was the last time they lost two league games at home in a row ? Actually I'll accept a draw on Wednesday, we can save beating them until the Cup Final. Lets not be greedy.

City won't want another loss that's for sure, we simply have to go into this without giving city any respect if we show any kind of fear or simply turn up with a park the bus philosophy or think that tippy tappy is going to work they will rip us apart, attack is definitely the best form of defence. A draw would be fantastic stick with che & tella with dejenepo assisting them.

People saying Forster hasn't really been tested properly yet this season. Well he's about to be.

Man U have proved MAN CITY are not invincible, so let's give it our best shot,- literally. It would be such a boost to Saint's morale. We beat Liverpool so why not City?...Tella is fresh so give him his head.

Well they're not going to drop points two games in a row now.

Play an attacking team and ruffle a few feathers. Far too many teams have been beaten easily by trying to defend against city so you might as well attack.

Not only torrential rain all day tomorrow in Manchester but a gusty gale too. The rain will not help us but the wind might. It'll help Adams score again like at St Mary's with 40-50 metre kick over their goalkeeper.

That sounds like 9-0 to me

Cheers CM

Blimey, how long have they had their pre match thread up!

We’ll no doubt feel the full force of retaliation from them if this result stays the same. Just what we need, a wounded Manchester City!

Hope so^^^^

I think those Saints fans relying on a gale as a leveller will find it will arrive a few hours too late to save them
