Hope Pep Doesnt! Hopefullt he's learnt from past selections at this stage from past seasons. we're not desperate for three points against Leeds nor we want to lose momentum. It's a fine balance, this is where he earns his 20m salary.

To be honest, hypothetically speaking, if dropping two points against Leeds meant we got past Dortmund I would settle for that.
He will continue to rotate and I do expect a lot of changes Saturday, I feel Kevin, as our best player by a mile, should be managed carefully.

They're no more deadly at home than we are away.
I'm sure we'll score there which puts us right on the front foot. Yes we got the luck for once with their disallowed one but other than the one on one with Haaland we were never in any danger other than that. We should have scored another couple 2nd half. At 1-1 I'd say it would have been 50/50 now I'm confident we're going through.

I can see him resting players saturday, Aguero will start which will mean at least one of the mf will rest. Laporte and Mendy possibly Ake if up to speed. Sterling snd Torres to start so wxpect Foden to rest. Id play Bernie as he looked off it last night

Liked his interview last night as well. No chucking his toys out of the pram over the disallowed goal. Reckoned we were possibly the best team in the world .

He did it via Twitter. He’s only 17 so he can be forgiven for crying about something that isn’t going to change.

He can count himself unlucky and Ed got away with one there. We have seen these go against us big time in the past so i won't lose sleep over it.
Back to the kid himself, looks a player alrhough the Beeb are linking us to some other Norwegian kid from the blades as Fern's replacement....I'd be going with a contract next week for Judey - Judey & Ruby has a ring to it

Maybe our poor performance was due to something that Pep alluded to after the game; That Rodri & Cancelo were not taking up the correct positions.

It would then have a direct effect on those directly in front of them, namely Gundogan & Bernardo, which in turn would also affect players around them too.

It would explain a lack of fluidiy about our play, particularly how they were able to get through us more easily than most other teams & why our attacking flow was lacking too.

Just a thought

Anybody read anything into that love in between Foden and Haaland after the final whistle?

To be fair we were pretty awesome at times and if Foden and Mahrez had scored what they should have scored (same old) we would've been 4 or 5 up and happy as Larry. We were always dominating but couldn't stop their runners. Hence the implied criticism of Rodri. It's not really his strength and I fancy the Master of the Dark Arts himself will play in Dortmund.

Great tweet. Had to check the result again to see if they change it after his post.

No chance.

But that was stupid, and it summed us up all match. Really slow on the ball and almost caught out a few too many times. I do wonder if we are used to a certain pace of pressing in the prem, and this match was big step up that nearly caught us cold.

Not sure how much time some of the players thought they had - I can think of 5 - 10 occasions players dwelled on the ball and nearly got pickpocketed, including Ed, Rod, Mahrez, Gundo, Kev, Cancelo, Walker... I kept screaming at them to play quicker, but I don't think they heard me.

not to beat a dead horse (donkey?), but compare sterling's typical reaction to missing wide open chances to foden's last night. foden was gutted and barely celebrated his goal b/c he was so mad at himself for earlier misses. sterling is all smiles and pretends he's won the world cup when he scores 1 in 25. says a lot about which player wants to improve and which one doesn't GAF.

Don't agree with this. Raz beats himself up about all big misses, all strikers do trust me on that. His recent performance for England is a case in point, he missed a few good chances and when he eventually (luckily) scored his reaction was very similar to Phil's.

1000000000% Sterling would NOT have scored that goal Foden scored as hes nowhere near instinctive enough to do it , he'd have paused and fucked it up.

Thats why Foden should always get the nod before Sterling .

Well, well, well, the assistant ref was getting an autograph for a kid with autism.

Pep had the perfect response to it. He pretty much said it’s likely to be for a kid. The media are all pieces of shit.
