MOTM vs Dirty Leeds

Postby CTID Hants » Sat Apr 10, 2021 1:45 pm

First half Jesus was the only one of the front 3 trying with effort and then went missing second half.

I almost didn't bother creating this but, given some of the performances today I'm intrigued to see others view.

I thought Zinchenko had a good game again so I'm giving it to him. Mentions to Fernandinho and Stones.

I thought Sterling was their best player

For all Stones bringing the ball out to the edge of their area, what did we do with it ? Fern was decent as was Zinch and i would go for Zinch at s push as he ended up having to bail mendy out at left back

No one above a 6/10. And at least two players with 3/10, if not three. Which is very rare for us to have that many not on it in one game

No one really stands out or deserves MotM for me, but if I have to pick one then Stones just about shades it. But only really by default

Stones. Can’t be blamed for being totally exposed on the second goal.

Fern.

Was quality in first half doing the job of three.

As good as stones was i think it was to our detriment in parts. Too easy to defend against thats why they allowed both our centre halves to come forward they knew theyd do fuck all.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody deserves it. Stones was nice going forward but 1st job is to defend and could have done better for both goals. Bernardo without Kev, time to shine but didn't. Sterling, absolute disgrace compounded by that run from the edge of our area into their half at 1-1 with an obvious pass to a free Phil on the left but refused to pass, overran it and fell on his arse. Just playing for himself, not the team. Mendy shocking, Jesus making the wrong runs constantly. I'd give it Fern as best of a bad bunch

Exactly my thoughts. Stones looked great going forward but if you are as a central defender and a leader (in the absence of Rubin) let in 2 goals, then that’s not a man of the man of the match performance for me. I picked Zinchenko who for me did a great job in a role he’s not been given the chance to do before.
