New Super League

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

New Super League

Postby CBBT » Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:02 pm

I will always love City , I will always follow City but if this super league goes ahead . I will call it a day on my attending matches it’s way to money motivated for a short term profit that will destroy the core of football!
YOU DON'T PICK CITY , CITY PICKS YOU AND WHEN IT HAS!! NO MATTER HOW BAD IT GETS NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU SAY THATS IT NO MORE NO SEASON TICKET IF YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY THE BLUE MIST THE ONLY TIME YOU STOP BEING BLUE IS WHEN YOU DIE!!
IF YOU ARE LUCKY IN YOUR ERA OF BEING BLUE YOU WILL SEE SUCESS IF NOT HEARTBREAK EITHER WAY YOU WILL BE BLUE. ITS JUST THE WAY IT IS!!!!

CITY TILL I DIE !!!

It's the death of the English game if this goes ahead, I thought City were better than this.

Breakaway Super League

Postby Harry Dowd scored » Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:05 pm

Breaking news six English PL clubs, including City have signed up to form a europe super league, personally I would be pissed off with City if we associated ourselves with the bastards that tried to fuck us with the ffp fiasco, wondered what other blues think?

This and only this. I could not follow City in this. We should be telling the rest of them to fuck off.
As much as I detest Bayern they have the right stance (surprisingly) on this for once.

We need more information - it SOUNDS like the club would need permission from the Prem (or the board anyway) to play in the new super league, but giving us permission to do so would hurt the Prem's 'brand', so City would have to break away, with all the shit that would generate from the FA, UEFA, and FIFA.

Read that the PL need to give permission for this, cant see that happening any time soon.

And as for it starting 'next season' best of luck with that lads.

Permission for us to carry on in the Prem while taking part in the Super League - no permission means City breaks away from the Premier League - as I understand it. Simply not worth it for City's fans.

That'll be me done with City too, if they go that way.
The Times story seems to be saying that 5 of "the big six" in England have signed up, with City verbally agreeing on Saturday. Think I'll wait and see!
Of course, as well as the English sides, it's all the usual suspects involved.

It'll be the only competition as they'll be banned from everything else

Can't help thinking this is in someway a power struggle with regard to the imminent announcements on the new CL format

The UEFA statement made me laugh.

"This persistent self-interest of a few has been going on for too long. Enough is enough."

Like UEFA haven't licked their arses all these years

Read the full thing and I was curious about the clubs and saw that Bayern and PSG are missing, then noticed UEFA thanked them for not getting involved.
Get ready to be robbed in the semis.

It was always going to happen with the yanks being involved but it doesn't make it any less reprehensible.

I really wish we'd told them to fuck off.

The cowards have pushed this through now knowing there will be no fans in the stadium to voice disapproval.

Well said, Ratboy.

We might agree with what he says, but do you really think that would be his view if he wasn’t an owner of a lower league club?

Salford are the Chelsea of the lower leagues, check out how many managers they have had. Gary is not wrong about the situation, but managers like Alexander or Evatt must be thinking are you for real I got promoted or won at Wembley and my reward was Sacked.
