Would you want The Sheikh to sell after ESL disaster?

The general consensus on the net tonight is fans of the other 4 clubs wants their owners out to remove the stink of the ESL from their clubs apart from City and Chelsea. I feel thanks to the fact we were the last 2 to sign up and the first 2 to leave the fans have been kinder to the owners of the clubs. But I have seen a lot of hate towards the club over the past couple of days (even though it was not the club's fault it was the owners and/or Khaldoon) and a lot of backtracking tonight. Do you want the owner to sell?? What's your opinion on him after this? As he clearly had the final say in this and if he didn't then Kaldoon will probably go in my opinion which would be upsetting but I feel he may be thrown under the bus here.

Well it's been a while since you've shown up

SIMPLE ANSWER NO and fuck off.

The club IMO have played those around them and now described by uefa as a "real asset" making themselves look like fucking despots

Let all the other cunts fall on their swords that are more culpable, why the fuck would we weaken ourselves?

Yes, I have not been around for a while. I 100% agree with you btw though on your answer. I was simply asking the question here to see if City fans feel like other fans but hey I remember why I left as I get greeted by being told to f**k off. How is this forum supposed to grow when you treat people like that huh?

No wonder people hate city fans with people like you around. You give us all a bad name ;).

No.

The last two days make no sense.
The ESL package proposal was a shambles from start to finish. Professional people at the top of their game do not suddenly start acting like amateurs and putting forward a shambles.
There is more to this than meets the eye. There had to be a valid reason why that shambles was allowed to be proposed.

For whatever reasons, we obviously decided we had no choice but to align with the other 5 English clubs.
My take is that there are very valid reasons why we did that.

I will tell who can fcuk off though - Gary Neville.
Self righteous twat who kept his mouth shut throughout the Glazers tenure and only pipes up when Sky's and by extension his position is threatened.

Fans of other clubs would love nothing more than if we mutinied against Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon. Can just imagine them whipping up a hysteria to get rid of their parasitic owners as well as our generous owners. All for the “good of football,” of course, nothing cynical.

A big mistake was made and I am disgusted that City were in league with the vipers from the other 11 clubs. However, I can understand why the club felt they had to be part of it.

For all Mansour and Khaldoon have done for the club and for Manchester, not least through a global pandemic, they’ve got a hell of a lot of goodwill banked. Be glad this shameful episode is over, and get behind them. Our enemies will be circling.

You've not changed I will give you that, I look forward to you next thread in 2022

Crazy talk.
Besides this was operational call not so much call of the owners. I'm sure they were briefed but that's it.

Absolutely not. I grew up thinking I’d never see my club win anything and since he’s taken over we’ve won everything (that I’m interested in). Can’t thank him enough.

The chairman might go - and I could live with that. I don’t think he brings anything to the club apart from crap interviews at the end of the season where he states the obvious and lies to us about how many signings we’re going to make.

LOL

What does any other chairman do?

I think he has been top notch chairman. First of all he leaves football side of the things to football people. Very important. Second, he has done smashing job, apart from this Super League mess, in areas that are his duty ie developing the club, making connections, fighting UEFAmafia, taking care of PR and so on. I can let this one mess slide and take my hat off actually that when shit hit the fan he was first and fastests to pull the plug and quickly move back to winning team.

The question has to be asked are the owners totally at fault here?
I think many are complicit.
We as fans, including me, demand top players signed at huge cost with huge wages, huge agent fees etc etc.
That money has to come from somewhere.

Everyone has some fault here, owners, players, agents, fans, media, tv etc.
The whole thing is too big and too ugly. There is too much money in the game, it's a big bubble, eventually all bubbles burst.

City Group is a long term investment so I doubt very much they will look to sell. Who would buy at the price the owners would sell at? Secondly, part of the reason they own it is as a PR tool, from that perspective it would be no surprise if the owner was not very angry at how the club have been perceived during this and there may be repercussions for those who signed us up. It’s such a shame we didn’t take the same position as Bayern and PSG to wait and see for a few days.

You realise our PR is dogshit don’t you? We get shit money for decent players. We pay £60m for Mendy. He’s not a “top notch” chairman.

Look, chairman doesn't make any sort of talent evaluation. We aren't Rotherham. It's the director of football and scouting department that make these calls within a budget set by financial department and approved by chairman. That's it. I'm sure they talk with Pep and his lads as well. Chairman signs the checks and that's it.

And I think our PR is trying their best. They handled FFP thing well. Their basic work ie getting supporters involved with the club is pretty good. We get constant bad press yet our replies have mostly been classy.

So the chairman “signs the cheques and that’s it”...So what fantastic job is he doing then? Just signing paper?

We never reply to the bad press - and that’s the issue! Should have been nipped in the bud years ago.

Like it or not football at the highest level is a dirty business, MCFC just got their hands dirty . It was something I think that was always going to happen within the power structure of club football. It is now done , we MCFC have come out of it relatively the good guys meanwhile the real bad guys MUFC Liverpool Arsenal and their greedy yank owners have been outed and been left to hang along with the idiot from Madrid . A sad chapter in European club football but unavoidable I think . Let’s all now wait and see what our owners have to say because they owe us one heck of an explanation !!!

A blast from the past, post more. Flipping it no pun intended, if the purchase was to at some point to rid themselves of UEFA.
They get the benefit of the doubt as it’s the first blip, massive but, let’s not get carried away.
