Breaking: Brian Kidd is set to leave #ManCity - he is not retiring and wants to remain in football if the right opportunity arises.

Brian Kidd:

"It has been a privilege to be part of such an exciting chapter in this club’s history. I can only thank Pep, Roberto and Manuel for their leadership during a period of huge change and challenges for everyone involved here. I hope to have offered them enough help and support along the way to have made a difference and played a small role in the different teams’ successes. Having also played for Manchester City, it was very special to return and throughout the last 12 years I have felt the warmth of the leadership, the staff and of the fans throughout. I am incredibly grateful to all of them. I would also like to say what an honour it has been to witness the evolution of the club under the stewardship of Sheikh Mansour and leadership of Khaldoon Al Mubarak. I am a Manchester man, and the work that has been done to improve the City of Manchester and the local community is fantastic. I wish only the best for Manchester City moving forwards."

Same here, but I did see him play at Maine road for rags v City in the youth cup in the sixties, he was a lot bigger and more powerful than the other lads, scored if I remember rightly.
I wonder why he is leaving, he must be pushing seventy, so you would think his options would be limited, anyway wish him all the best in the future

I’ve had 12 wonderful years with three great managers, and being a local lad it has meant the world to me. But recent times have not been the same. I’m 72, Colin has just passed away, and then there was Tony and Nobby … so many."

Sounds like he wants to spend more time with the family, after naming people who have passed. Might be better at a local lower league club with less demand on his time.
