Superman

Just listened to the latest Kickback with Nedum podcast, in which he talks for an hour with, the otherwise media shy, Stephen Ireland. Apart from Stevie's dodgy phone connection it was a great listen. He had such a great season for us under Hughes, but didn't fit Mancini's more rigid approach. It's interesting to think how he would've fared under Pep.

I listened to this yesterday and I agree, it’s a fascinating listen.

I was never bought in to the Ireland hype. But I found it endearing when he said as soon as he joined City at 15 he became a supporter of the club. Saying the best feeling was hearing the fans sing “Ireland is Superman”.

They mentioned how Ireland came on as a sub under Pearce to play in the 10, and within 60 seconds of coming on Barton told him to drop back and said he’d play in the 10. Shows how little the players respected Pearce and how he had zero control over them.

Yeah, Ireland seemed to laugh it off but Nedum really dislikes him.

Weird this. When Psycho finished with the field and went into the coaching role it looked like he left his reputation out there.
I would have been terrified as a player to ignore him.

Correct. Pearce might've been joke manager but you just don't do that in fucking U6's never mind Premier League. What a cunt. I never liked Barton and hate him these days with passion. Closet rag for sure.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

He’s a scouser. Nothing rag about him.
