No 9 what answer will Pep come up with?

Postby Dimples » Wed Aug 25, 2021 1:27 pm

Pep is inventive and develops players.
If we don't get a traditional 9 in, what answer do people think Pep will come up with?

Can Grealish be developed to play there?
How far away is Delap?

I think he's definitely the one with the most potential there. He took that disallowed goal really well on Saturday, the hat-trick at Newcastle last season was superb. He just needs to get in the game more.

It was similar with Spain in the summer - sometimes he drifted out of the game. I think because it’s not his natural position he needs to learn to get involved and where to position himself better.

He should be more settled rhia season. He is a good finisher and also decent in the air. Hw could morph into a no 9 given a couple of seasons

Maybe Jesus will be ok? I have my doubts personally.
Maybe Delap will get a chance and take it
Maybe Torres will step up
Maybe we will reinvent ourselves with a different approach
Maybe we will have a target lined up next summer or January and we make do with one of the above options until then

One thing we have struggled to do and will perhaps continue to do is to second guess what Pep will do
