How about Foden as a No.9 ?

Better than Torres, knows where the goal is, skillful, can take anyone on and beat them and we all know he won't be a regular first choice midfielder because we have plenty of options in that area and Pep has to try and keep them all happy.
I personally think its a no brainer.

Not too sure I would agree with that, many fans feel he will end up in midfield more often than out wide. And I absolutely believe he will be a first choice midfielder.

He’s our best player in his position. I don’t care what anyone says.

How about Foden just plays in the starting 11 before Sterling .
That would be the smart move .

Is it Fodens best position? Has he played there before?
The answer is no
Thus it’s yet another square peg in a round hole as it would diminish his impact elsewhere
Therefore the answer is really quite straightforward. Buy a proper fucking striker

Asked to name his favourite position, Foden said: "Some games, I've played three different positions. I've played off the left, off the right, false nine, and in the middle.
"But from growing up, I've always played in one of the eight or 10 roles.
"So I'd like to see myself hopefully playing there one day, in the middle."

I've always seen Phil as an inside forward or either a free role.
I think we will see his full potential after Kevin will step back.
To be honest, he is still finding himself, but for the moment, Inside forward. Last year he ripped one into Robertson and Wank Bissaka.

Apart from KDB Phil is our most potent attacking player....when he has the ball you know it has a great chance of finding the net.........when we see Sterling we just know fuckall will happen.

Your constant refrain about Raz temporary shortcomings should have a musical accompaniment

As does your continuous defense of him )))
Temporary ? He has scored 2 in 23 games and continúes to play 90 minutes no matter how shit he is I front of goal .
I don’t mind his “contributions” to our play when he’s on the pitch , I do mind when players like Foden are pushed around to accommodate him.
Imo he should only be used as a sub.

I think he’d be wasted trying to find space between 2 big CB’s personally. Just my opinion.

Why did pep persist with him there for so long.
I just couldn't understand it.

Presumably because he can and will run all day and he was stretching the Chelsea back line leaving space open out on the flanks.
But he is not the answer there long term and definitely not at the dippers

He did what was asked of him , and more .
The cunt must have put in a record amount of runs today —— he was knackered when he came off .
Agree with your assessment

I am not saying he didn't try, he did he always does. But he is a fish out of water in that position.
Point is he's more effective elsewhere.

I agree with you mate .
Cannot fault baldie today for his line up , he will know that Foden is best suited elsewhere .
Like any change in formation , one change affects other players - not easy .
One thing is an easy decision though - barring injury or a “justified rest “Sterling should never ever start ahead of Bernie and /Or Foden —— ever .

At the moment, in our false nine system, Kevin is the only one that should play there, imho.
Was looking at him yesterday and his biggest flaw is that he is not tracking back at all. I think has a free role, more than a playmaker. I think he should do fine up there, plus, he can stay away from injuries longer.
