Pep Guardiola has selected a 20-man squad for Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Group A game against Club Brugge.
No Stones

Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan, Gabriel Jesus, Jack Grealish, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Zack Steffen, Aymeric Laporte, Rodrigo, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, Riyad Mahrez, Joao Cancelo, Ederson, Scott Carson, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer.

City currently sit third in Group A, with three points from our opening two games.

Stones absent for personal reasons. Back four picks itself. Walker Dias Laporte Cancelo. Rodri Bernardo De Bruyne seems likely. Foden Jesus Grealish? Whatever the complaints about Jesus he’s probably the best choice in the centre. Sterling, Grealish and Foden lose their effectiveness there.

The personal reason is that we’re not England.

Haha true. But seriously, what the fuck is going on with him again
I see Palmer has travelled which can only be a good sign. Maybe Gundo gets some game time. Be surprised if its not Foden Grealish Gabby up top

Jesus chose to go and play for his country knowing he’d miss our game. He can sit on the bench and fight his way back in to the team. Same with Ed. Steffan is more than capable.

Exactly........Id be pissed paying someones salary only for them to go and fuck themselves up, by doing the exact same job for someone else, in their spare time.

I get why managers fume over this....baldie probably bursts a blood vessel in his head but knows he cant say anything.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Not sure they had a realistic choice Mase - Gabby doesn't have to fight much to get in the team either

Brugge have drawn with PSG and beaten Leipzig so they are no mugs, any win will do, the three points most important .

Most players want to represent their countries and play in big international competitions. Even if they did not want to play internationals, imagine the media backlash if they said they were not interested.
So I don't blame the players, I blame the people who organize the crazy amount of matches and the bloated numbers of qualifying teams in the competitions just to make more money.
Also, the international managers who play players when they should not.

Wenger advocating WC every two years will really fuck things up if he gets his way that is.

Mahrez got us to the final last season in the CL so I’d continue with him personally.

We need to beat these in both games. So as strong as possible please, The No 9 or false 9 whatever, is a problem position. would put Kev at 9, but we all know Pep is going to pick Sterling there.
Ideally Rodri, Bernardo, Foden, Kev, Jesus and Grealish please.

I think they need a doctor's note as well - but all the Selecao boys seem to like to get back to their friends & families in Brazil as often as they can. Really quite a planeload from round here - even the ones who don't get picked sometimes hitch a ride anyway I'm told.
