Loved big Joe.
Unlucky to get only 9 England caps.
Was eligible to play for Ireland, would have got a bucket full if he had gone down that road.

One of my City heroes. Was always Joe if I had to go in goal at the park....

Will have to give that a watch loved big joe back in the day. Remember the ads in the match program do you want to buy big joes house and car when he went to play in the states. Lived near my gran in Sale. Lost his licence drink driving for a time and had to bike it in - or thats what we put out in the press. Would not happen now

When he left us he went to Brighton for a season. He played for them at Maine Road against us and i've never heard a reception like it for an ex player.
We beat them 4-0 but we spent the whole game singing for Big Joe and cheering every save. Unbelievable day for a great City legend.
