Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Been below par for a little while now. Is it a minor blip as many young players have? Or is this part of his star waning? Is he just suffering from a couple of knocks and is not 100%? Does he think he’s made it and taken his foot off the pedal? Are off field antics getting the better of him?
Whatever it is, he either needs a quiet word/a kick up the backside/or benching for a while. Whichever is the most appropriate for him. We need him finding his mojo again and sooner rather than later

Is he huffing after his naughty step incident?

I hope not. We have a problem if he is simply spitting his dummy out

Let’s not go overboard - he’s still one of the biggest threats for a goal we have in our squad .
He just need to veer clear of grealish out of work ,IMO
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Not going overboard by any means.
He hasn’t been at the levels he has shown in the last couple of years recently. It isn’t just a game or two, it’s been a little while. Hence the questions of why this might be in the OP.
Personally I think it’s more likely to be a small combination of different things. But his lifestyle worries me. The top players these days don’t burn the candle at both ends like they used to get away with. Like I say, hopefully it’s just a mere blip. But I have concerns and I can’t be the only one

He needs a run in his best position. It's all well and good him gaining experience playing across the front line but he also needs to become the best player in the world in one position

This. The constant playing people out of position is starting to irritate me. Sterling has been played out of position for a few seasons and now we’re seeing him back to his best on the right (apart from yesterday). Grealish has come in and being asked to play out of position and change his game - we shouldn’t have bought him then.
The CL final a number of players were asked to play out of position just to accommodate putting Sterling back in.

Possibly because he’s just had his second kid a couple of months ago? That coupled with the usual young player dip in form?
He’s at a point in his career though where he needs to knuckle down and make sure his head is in the right place.

I get what you're saying Mase and OD, this obsession of playing players out of place is something I struggle with too, sometimes it works sometimes maybe not.
In addition I get he's recently become a father for the second time which despite whoever you are (unless you're a complete cunt) is going have an affect short term.
That said this 'friendship' with Grealish needs putting into check, we know it , Pep knows it, he needs to see it for himself

Agree RE: Grealish. And I think Pep is the type of guy to give advice but not directly tell you what to do, he’ll want you to work it out by yourself.
Sterling winds me up sometimes, but since he’s been at City he’s rarely been pictured on a piss up. Hopefully the more senior players like that will have a word with Foden.

I actually thought Foden and Grealish linked up quite nicely a fair few times yesterday and on another day both would have had a couple of assists or goals.
There was also a stat shown over the weekend saying Foden has the most goals and assists of all under 21s in the league this season.
I agree there are some things recently that could be a concern in terms of his actions outside of the game but I'm not pressing the panic button just yet

That's what I'm afraid of, and tbh think what's happening.

Bottom line is there are no excuses in such an unforgiving football world.
He just needs to sort it out.
