All time City kits

The kits in the past 6-7 years have for my money been some of our worst of all time. So let’s settle this, if we had to pick 3 (home, away, 3rd) to play in for the rest of time, which 3 are you having?

I’ll start 09/10 home kit. This is in my opinion, the best kit we have ever had. Simple, beautiful and comfy. I’d wear this every season if it were my choice. Nothing since has come close. Umbra take a bow. Notable mentions are the 70’s blue kit with the badge in the middle and the 89 brother umbro kit with the patterns.

Away kit is tough. Some horrors and some beauties over the years. The season I selected the home kit and the next season I think had two crackers, the black and yellow and the navy. Both contenders. Having said that I feel we need black and red for our away kit so will choose the 2000 (I think) le coq version. Been a few good ones, including another umbro, but this is quite simple and effective.

3rd kit I’ll go nostalgic and just select the wembley top that got us promotion. The next choice would have been the umbro white with the sash, but going for history here.

So what does everyone else choose?

My all-time favorite must be the one with Eidos, 2000. Was the first City kit I've got, it was a fake replica.
I think I still have it somewhere.

Looked meh, to be honest, but has a huge sentimental value.

Totally agree in regards to the third kit.
Not too keen on the playoff kit, apart from sentimental reasons.

Home kit from early 70s with the badge in the middle and white piping round the collar and cuffs
Black and red striped for the away. Not even open for debate
IMO there’s no need for a third kit

1969-70 home and away. Best kits we ever had. I think they lasted for about 3 years before total blue appeared on the socks in about 1973-74.

I honestly can't believe someone thought it financially viable to make a snide version of that. I think it was around £25 for the real one, and we were hardly gaining supporters from far-flung corners of the world where it wasn't sold or affordable, and those were the days before e-commerce meant you could buy something from Thailand and have it land on your doorstep in Estonia or Argentina a few days later...

My all-time favourite kit. That's what I'd choose, but it'd mean no 'pure' red-and-black choice. Therefore, I'd go for the maroon-and-white 2002/03 third kit as the final one (which never gets the credit it deserves as a design), or a similar one from the mid-late 80s (possibly when we had Phillips as a sponsor).

For home, it's 2009/10 for me, too. Kappa gets an honourable mention, though, but I wouldn't want to play in laser blue for eternity.
