Apologies for missing a few games recently. I couldn’t resist checking in on the dippers for this one, and then instantly regretted it. There is a lot of chat about the officials, but on the whole they seem to be fairly confident (having the best team in the world and all that!). The Etihad will be rocking tomorrow, and I feel oddly calm at this point. That will all change in the morning.
COME ON CITY!!!
Referee: Anthony Taylor
Assistants: Gary Beswick, Adam Nunn
Fourth official: Andre Marriner
VAR: Paul Tierney
Assistant VAR: Timothy Wood
Team Selection
Alisson
Trent Matip VVD Robbo
Henderson Fabinho Thiago
Salah Firmino Mane
And the rest…
Manchester refs again. Why do we put up with it?
I was excited/nervous about this and then I saw the refs and I just thought "what's the fucking point"
A lot would take a draw, but I think we need to win, that gives us the opportunity to have 1 draw and still be top as our goal difference is much better.
I think Kloppo will set us up to 'not lose'. And to then nick one on the counter if the chance arises.
Cos we can't afford to lose this and give them a 4pt lead at this stage of the season. BUT if we did lose, I am actually confident the title race would still go down to the wire - our squad is THAT good. But we don't need that extra stress!
I want Tyler and Neville in tears by the end.
We've won many games in spite of shite officiating this season alone, should the officials be shit let's do it again
I actually think we are a better team at the moment. A massive opportunity to put us in the driving seat for the league title. We are due the rub of the green in this fixture.,,I’m going for a 2-0 Liverpool win.
The biggest match of the Klopp era for me, and one that could well define his legacy. A big call considering we've played in 2 CL finals, but chasing down City, beating them at their place, and going on to win the league would be Klopp's greatest achievement as manager (which is saying a lot!). Since a loss probably puts things to bed, a draw seems like a great result. It keeps us alive and it would make City earn their title. But deep down I think it only delays the inevitable. West Ham and Wolves being their toughest remaining opponents doesn't inspire much confidence. It's in our hands, so lets go for the win.
Some people will be surprised by how easily we will beat City. We will expose them on Sunday.
If Spuds can do it...
I think the old school Mane - Bobby - Salah start this one, with Jota and Diaz coming around the 60 minute mark to freshen up
Win the game and Ill be celebrating winning the league.
We're playing a club that shouldn't even be in existence. They should have been relegated to the non-leagues years ago. Frauds from top to bottom. The owners, the manager, the players and the fans, they all go along with it and turn a blind eye to the corruption. Man city is the biggest shit stain in football, all propped up with dodgy finances. Rip their fucking heads off. It's either us or them.
Sounds like we go into this with a moral victory already with the Der Spiegel scandal on people's minds. Let's hope the nerves don't get to the players. I know mine are killing me already. Proper heart-in-mouth situation here.
I’m actually quite calm. This is the best Liverpool team we’ve had for decades. If there is any Liverpool team we want going there to try and win it’s the one we currently have. We’re in great form and we have the tools to hurt them. Spurs showed that if you get at them they are vulnerable and can be beaten. Palace took a point off them and they just scraped past Atletico. The way we are playing right now and with the players we have up front we will cause them a lot of trouble. Gut feeling is that we win by a couple of goals. I trust this team and we are the best attack they would have faced all season.
Don’t know what to think about this game. There’s been so much more media hype over this particular game and people billing it as the title decider for whoever wins, which I don’t think it is, unless city win. For some reason I’m not nervous at all (yet) and I normally am when we play these cheats. I think there’s a big part of me expecting city to win, so my expectations aren’t for a win, even though we’re more than capable of beating the sport washing pricks. I’d actually bench Salah, city won’t expect that, plus if we’re honest he’s not been anywhere near his best for a little bit now. Bring him on with 30 mins left.
Should bring a blow up bus into the away end.
By God, they're obsessed with that fucking bus.
Dortmund's bus got fucking bombed before a Champions League match and they've cried about it less.
This conspiracy stuff is embarrassing. City were like it the year we won the league and we all mocked them. The league is not bent in their favour. If we go into this game believing its all a stitch up and because the referees are from Greater Manchester we won't get any decisions we might as well not bother turning up. Even the oil club/sportswashing stuff. At least that's true, but why put ourselves on a lesser footing than them? We aren't underdogs any more. The odds aren't stacked against us when we're on the pitch. We have a better coach, a better starting 11 and a better squad now, in my opinion. Fuck worrying about refs. We need to go there on Sunday and do a job. It's right to talk about sportswashing but let's do it at the end of the season instead of hiding behind it now. On the pitch I think we've given too much respect to the big teams over the last few seasons. At United and Everton we could never seem to get a result or a performance, this season we went to those places, played our normal game instead of playing the tie and we absolutely smashed them. That's what we need to do here. City are an absolutely fantastic team, one of the greatest the league has seen, but at this point in time we are better. They have struggled to create chances and have been fortunate to scrape a lot of 1-0s in games since christmas. We've hunted them down from a position they thought they were about to waltz to a title from and this is our chance to overtake them and send a massive message in doing so. I really think we go there on Sunday and take the game to them. The players will play without fear and we as fans need to approach it without fear as well. If I thought there was a conspiracy attempting to prevent Liverpool winning the league I wouldn't bother watching any more. What would be the point?

I usually treat my body like a temple. Last night I treated mine like a whorehouse above a liquor store next to a motherfucking Taco Bell.
