The Run In

Postby City64 » Sun Apr 17, 2022 11:15 am

So ,
Here we are now left in the biggest two club competition’s in the world the UCL and the PL title . We have a fairly straightforward run in while the dippers have 3 or so tricky fixtures. In the UCL both us and the dippers have a great chance of progressing through the semi finals into the final but nothing is taken for granted . BUT ………
Klopp has always thrown the domestic cup competition’s to concentrate on the PL and the UCL big prize big money . This season he has gambled and gone for the lot with only a slightly stronger squad than the wafer thin one he has previously operated with . Will this catch up with dippers in the coming weeks ? They have had some easy fixtures in the UCL and the PL the last couple of months but their schedule ahead is pretty frightening. City on the other hand have a straight forward task and only one injury within the squad ( Walker ) . Is going all out for everything going to cost Klopp in the big picture of things ?
Not really here

Fuck VAR

I think the FA Cup final is the last game right before the champions league final?

What I'd give right now for that to be a 120 minute battle and Chelsea winning on penos.

Then we batter them to win the champions league.

Carlsberg?

I’d love nothing more than to wipe the smug massive tooth smile off Klopp’s face by beating them to the Prem and CL.

There are only one teams that can stop them: us and Madrid.

If either of us fail in UCL & the league, we better find a cave and go there because we will never hear the end of this season.
Sadly I can't see Chelsea doing their job in the final.

The local treble, our record is really all I care about. I want us to keep it, only us.

Leeds, Wolves and West Ham away are far from straightforward. If we are at our best and everyone is fully fit, fine.

We gave seen many times over the years there are few easy games as teams seem to give their all against us

On paper we should win all 7 but it doesn't work like that. And of course that goes for the dippers as well

Brighton next up could be season defining

This. Those are not three easy away games and wolves is going to be midweek rearrange. Wednesday is a big game and if the red shite can kick the shit out of them before that, all the better. One game at a time now, best team and no fucking about

Whilst the rags are pretty duff. If tranny had some of those chances our strikers missed yesterday, it would have been ok. Scouse2's defense is poor.

It would be good if the rags get something on Tuesday, and that twat Mctominay kicks the fuck out of the dippers

I am very deluded, but I am hoping Conte might get a point with them.

He did earlier in the season.

If spuds are still fighting for the Wenger trophy he is capable of doing a number on them, so maybe not so deluded

We just need to worry about OUR next game. Don't rely on anyone else. We just have to do it ourselves.

I agree.
We control both competitions. Win our games and both are ours. Nothing anyone can do about that.

10 games to go (including the UCL final).
Not gonna lie, boys, I think we need a favor from some place. I just can see us win almost all of them.

Dippers PL run in is not difficult.
Rags and Scouse1 are both rubbish.
Villa is a gimme from Stevie G.
They have one potential tough game - Spurs because Son and Kane could punish that high line.
Maybe Newcastle as well because they detest them and it is at St. James Park.

Dippers have everyone fit and five scoring forwards to rotate. They have a better goal difference so even if they draw a game we still cannot afford to lose even one.

Viallareal is an easier tie than RM.

We are tired, have a thinner squad and cannot rely on some experienced squad members like Jesus, Sterling, Zinch, etc... and have no clinical goal scorer.

As it stands right now, the Dippers are better positioned than us. The plus for us is that we are still in total control of our own destiny and we have the best manager in the world to see us over the line.

Sorry Dimples but I think you underestimate City.
We have a battle hardened, never know when we're beaten squad. We've bin knocked down and stood up again a number of times and a mentality that the team always comes 1st, everyone pulling in the same direction.
Time and time again, we have seen City get out of jail by sheer "refusal to lose".

No games are easy, not for us and not for the dippers but time and time again we have shown we are quite capable of handling the stress and pressure.

I for one am going to enjoy every moment of this battle over the next few weeks.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT
