No parent should ever have to bury a child. My heart goes out to him and his family

Very sorry to hear that mate.
Any news like this is just heartbreaking

Things like this transcend football. As a footballer probably like most others on here I am not very fond of him. However that's harrowing stuff to deal with and I wish him, his wife and family all the best.
Nothing more can be said really.

It's been 34 years for me now, we had twins the girl lasted about 3 hours, the boy about 18 hours. Basically they were very early and both weighed a fraction over 2 pounds each.
The hospital were very helpful, but I still had to register the births in order to get death certificates issued which was really shit conversation with the registrar. No idea if things have been made easier so that people don't still have to go through that.
Our families were great helping with the funeral eyc and we were both allowed time from work for a few weeks.
Counselling was offered but only by volunteers I.e. people who had been through it themselves and my other half refused to go with me. We eventually split up about a year later, things got horrible at the end because she wasn't functioning properly. I do know she is OK now and went on to have her own family as I have too.
It does get easier with time, but always think of them especially on landmark birthday's etc.
