To be fair he always was a shit shot-stopper.

He seems the same if you ask me, just his distribution went a bit to shit lately his passing that puts our boys under pressure.

He hasn’t saved one single shot in a whole month and everything is ending up in the back of the net lately .

I don’t think Ederson was to blame for anything last night. We have conceded the fewest goals in the PL……enough said. He cannot save everything, and yes there were a few dodgy moments last night when the ball was at his feet, a goalie is always going to have that kind of game where things don't quite go right, but RM didn't gain any advantage from his couple of errors. He was not at fault for their first goal, that was just outstanding finishing. Their second goal was stoppable if Laporte had done the right thing and gone across to cover, instead he just inexplicably let him through without challenge. And the penalty, well, what can you say……..I think if VAR had properly assessed that it would never have been given, it was purely accidental and we gained no advantage. Ederson went a little early from the spot kick, a slight criticism. I, personally am not worried about his form. Tarry all that with the amount of times we carved them open we should have been out of sight, we are now left with a very difficult task next week….if we play to our best we will beat them.

I could compose a long answer, but basically he's gone to shit mate.

Carson will be playing at this rate. Might save a penalty then.

He knows his number two is shite. Competition removes complacency and sadly there is no way Steffen will ever push him for a first team place.

It's his distribution, fellas, that is what went to shit lately. His gk skills are the same, poor shot-stopper and penalty saver.
I think he saved just one penalty in the last three years and that was against Everton last year when it was not needed.

I think we need to understand his limits as a goalkeeper and his skills and importance in our game.
He needs to be consistent again.

Has always been a shit shot-stopper. In what was already shaky unfit defence last night he chose to keep putting us under pressure. Stones should not have started and that did not help. For everyone who calls out the least amount of goals conceded, whilst that is true, how many times do opponents get chances at our goal. Never been impressed with anything other than his distribution which has been amazing but he is a frustrated midfielder who is playing in goal

The lad 1v 1 finishes we miss that unless it’s KDB. Pen. He’s in form of his life, sounds harsh this but now I’ve seen the 1st goal for them Zinchs has to do better, he does get done a lot back post, back to Edderson he is a sweeper first Keeper 2nd. Alison makes more mistakes but 1v1 he is better.

All goalkeepers go through mid career crisis, not long ago Allison was horrific and yet still lauded as one of the best. We shouldn't throw him under the bus, he'll come good eventually. Yes he deserves some flak but dropping him will knock his confidence, the alternatives are no near to his level, not many out there are! One of the best in the world.
To be fair to him, goal keepers need a consistent back 4, through rotation and injuries he's not had the consistency in front of him.

No-one is saying drop him, we saw with Zack that he was not up to it when pressed in his last two fa cup games. We accept that he is in the team for his distribution first and goalkeeping ability second. We should be on the lookout for a longer term replacement through the ranks

One thing I noticed last night was that RM chased him down, which is unusual in the Prem. Basically, once the ball's within 20 feet of him, attackers tend to drop back. I'm wondering whether last night's tactic might be replicated by a few teams in future, and, if so, if this could have a long-term effect on his distribution. If (and it's a big if) that's the case, then we might need to start looking elsewhere in a couple of seasons.

I'm wondering where Bazunu will be next season, though. He was highly rated this season, from what I've read. Steffen's only a year or two younger than Ederson, so I'd be happy to move him on if Bazunu's got enough experience under his wings to deputize.

He has looked a bit dodgey for a while now. Rarely makes a 'world class' save, only manages a save when ball straight at him. Famed for distribution, but that's looking off now as well. Dwelling longer on the ball, taking too many risks, a noticeable decline in passing.
Is the lack of real competition making him complacent?
Zak doesn't really have Ed sweating about his place does he.

Steffan should be relegated to 3rd choice and Bazunu brought back in to compete directly with Ed.

We don't need to look further than Bazunu for a longer term replacement. He is class.

I agreed.
His distribution, shot stopping and temperament look first class.
He has a very good chance of making it with us.

Dont want him gone as he is a big part of our success and how we are set up. But his shot saving attributes are average at best.
If he was replaced I wouldn't be as upset as I would with others such as KDB or Foden. He is underperforming and has done for a little while. Maybe not having a forward as an out ball is limiting him?

I for one and I know there were many others, thought Hart untouchable when Pep arrived. Very wrong as it turned out. Ederson needs to up his game, he isn't untouchable

Last time we had a chat about him was before the semi and look how that turned out.
There was a lot of people at fault for the goals conceded last night- Stones and Zinch 1st goal, Fern and Laporte 2nd goal, 3rd goal was a really harsh pen but Foden lost the ball and gave a stupid free kick in the process which led to the pen.
Ederson wasn't at fault for any, their 1st 2 goals were fabulous finishes

Looks like he's trying to hard to convince everyone how cool he is under pressure. Needs to wake up. Allisson is so clear at the moment regularly saves those fuckers with his shot stopping. Its a worry.

1st goal no - 2nd goal he was piss poor and he was also piss poor for the penalty, IMO.
His distribution was abysmal - put us in the back foot many times because of it and they could have easily scored .

He got 5 out of ten for a reason by most pundits .

In summary - he was fucking shit .

He’s a millimetre away from doing a Stefan .
Players are now going to pressure him every single time .

He needs to fucking buck up his ideas .
