I think he is a great lad. He will play an important part of these 3 games.

Ake is one of those footballers I have a genuine sympathy for.

A quality player and the star of his previous club arrives at City and finds himself behind some of the bestdefenders in the World.
He gets games as a fill indue to rotation or injuries and rarely if ever lets his team down.
Players like him and Zinchenko are like diamonds.

I could not agree with you more, sums BOTH players up perfectly old Sage.

A credit to themselves and the club, both are real assets that are easily dissed due to lack of game time yet both step up when asked.

He’s been playing very well lately.

Now he has a great opportunity to play a key role in us winning the title in these remaining games.

If we’re comfortable tonight get him off. Same with KDB.

Yes. I'm not sure he's 100% fit at all and I think he broke down last time he was on?

Whilst I appreciate Johnny's celebration I hope it's not too premature

100%

Both not quite there to be part of the best XI, but both very adequate replacements to fill in when required. And they just get on with it and both are adaptable to play a couple roles, Zinchenko LB and LM and Ake LB and CB. Never heard anything negative from either of them, in fact Wolves wanted Zinchenko a year or so back and he opted to stay because he loves it here so much.

To be successful you need guys like this in the squad. And as it goes I would include Jesus in this bracket as well.

I'd love to agree with you Notts.
I think Jesus is a quality player who works very hard for the team and would be an asset to any other team
He was brought in as a striker and I don't think he is at the level rquired totake us to that next level

I am wholly convinced that the one issue stopping City getting the results our outfield play deserves is the paucity of our chance to goals ratio. We lack that clinical edge and it has cost usdearly. In the recent Real semi, we played them off the park for long periods, particularly in the 1st half of the 1st leg. Though we scored 4, we threw away chance after chance in that period.
That problem is replicated week after week where we dominate and control games and because we win most handsomely, the missed chances are largely forgotten and we celebrate our victories.

Domesticall, we have enough for this issue not to affect us too badly, if at all, but we saw how it became crucial in our recent semi.
Real had few chances to score or hurt us but they were clinical and went on to beat us.

Our chance to goals conversion rate is piss poor and will always prove a barrier at the very top level.
As good as Jesus may be, he (and some others) is part of that problem.

Jesus does our head in many times, but I would love him to stay. Fantastic player to have in your squad and also looks like a guy that has his feet on the ground.
Never heard something back about him off the pitch.

Very true John. But my point was he is in that bracket of player who isn’t part of the best XI and who doesn’t start in the biggest games, unless injuries or suspensions dictate otherwise. But he is an able squad player who can play in the games before a CL semi or a Carabao cup final for example as part of squad rotation. We cannot expect Haaland to play in every game. If he doesn’t want to move and is happy playing the role of a squad player, who again can play in different positions, I think he is in the same bracket as the Zinchenkos and Akes.

Looks like Ake only on the bench. Fernandinho starts.

Thing is though if pep brought on kids like palmer mcatee mbete egan riley in games we are smashing teams, he'd be less fearful in this situation.

Ordinary I would whole heartedly agree with you and everyone else in that thinking.

Too much of a gamble at this point of the season... that said if the dipper lose their next game and we beat the Hammers I would be all for it, start the lot of them.

Let's take a look pre season in America an then again next season in any game we are 4 up with 15 minutes to go until we can see they are up to it.
